Information cutoff: 2026-07-18, America/New_York. These are independent rookie-only ranks, not ADP and not an overall NBA player board.
How to read the board
- 9C ranks projected 2026-27 per-game nine-category value within the 60-player drafted class. It prices FG%, FT%, threes, points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks and turnovers, with role certainty as a tiebreaker.
- PTS ranks that same class for a generic points format. Scoring and assists gain; low FG% and turnovers usually cost less. Platform settings can materially reorder the guards.
- DYN is the long-horizon rookie-draft order. It weighs age, scalable skills, health, role runway and asset liquidity rather than simply sorting projected rookie minutes.
- MPG is the team dossier's representative healthy-game allocation.
0 / 10Cmeans zero in the exact 240-minute base but roughly ten minutes when conditionally active; it must not be added to the team total. - Floor β ceiling is a role/outcome range, not a confidence interval. A βtop-100β reference means overall fantasy value, while every bare rank in the tables is rookie-only.
The draft/team assignment follows the NBA's final 2026 draft ledger and official prospect database. The fantasy ordering reconciles the source work in Rookies and dynasty desk, especially RotoBaller's July top 70, NBC Sports' category board, FantasyPros' post-draft ranks, official team dossiers and this encyclopedia's minute model.
Tier definitions
| Dynasty tier | Meaning |
|---|---|
| S β franchise | DYN 1-4. Plausible foundational asset; format can change the order. |
| A β premium first | DYN 5-11. Strong first-round rookie pick with either star upside or an unusually bankable fantasy shape. |
| B β first-round swing | DYN 12-20. One major role, health or translation question separates the player from Tier A. |
| C β second-round core | DYN 21-35. Real NBA path and one or more bankable categories, but lower probability of foundational value. |
| D β deep draft | DYN 36-50. Role-dependent stashes; contract and development context can matter more than draft slot. |
| E β rights/watch | DYN 51-60. Two-way, unsigned or stash outcomes dominate immediate value. |
Top-line projection capsules
| Player | Base projection | Why the formats split |
|---|---|---|
| Cameron Boozer | 30 MPG; 18.3 PTS, 8.3 REB, 3.5 AST, 1.0 STL, 0.6 BLK, .510 FG, .790 FT | Best combined efficiency/rebound/playmaking floor; 9C 1, PTS 2, DYN 1. |
| Darryn Peterson | 29 MPG; 16.5 PTS, 4.2 REB, 3.4 AST, 1.1 STL, 1.8 3PM | Premium shooting/steals guard, but health and lead-creation volume remain live questions. |
| AJ Dybantsa | 32 MPG; 18.6 PTS, 6.1 REB, 3.1 AST, 1.1 STL | Class-best immediate points-volume case; threes, turnovers and NBA efficiency hold him behind Boozer in 9-cat. |
| Caleb Wilson | 29 MPG; 14.4 PTS, 7.8 REB, 1.0 STL, 1.1 BLK | Stocks/rebounds can carry 9-cat even if the jumper and FT% regress sharply from Summer League noise. |
| Keaton Wagler | 28 MPG; 14.6 PTS, 2.2 3PM, 4.0 REB, 4.0 AST | Tall shooting/secondary creation is scalable; physical defense and touch share limit the rookie ceiling. |
| Mikel Brown Jr. | 29 MPG; 14.5 PTS, 5.2 AST, 2.0 3PM | Strong points/assists/FT shape; back history, FG% and turnovers make the 9-cat line less secure. |
| Darius Acuff Jr. | 31 MPG; 17.8 PTS, 5.9 AST, 1.8 3PM | Minutes and on-ball usage lift him to PTS 3; small-guard efficiency/defense lower the category rank. |
| Yaxel Lendeborg | 25.5 MPG; 10.8 PTS, 6.2 REB, 2.3 AST, 1.2 STL, 0.8 BLK | Age 23 lowers resale upside, but NBA-ready category breadth makes him 9C 5 immediately. |
The factual pre-NBA anchors are unusually strong at the top: Boozer's official profile lists 22.5 points, 10.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.4 steals on 55.6/39.1/78.9 shooting; Dybantsa's lists 25.5/6.8/3.7; and Peterson's records 38% from three and 83% FT with prior hamstring/ankle absences. Undrafted rookies and eligibility edges
This queue covers 2026 undrafted players with dossiers plus prior-year rights/injury cases that may be called rookies colloquially or under formal eligibility rules. DX is a deep-dynasty priority within this edge group, not an extension of the drafted-class board.

Veteran-age first-NBA-season cases
- Tarik BiberoviΔ is 25 and projected for 18 MPG after signing from Europe. He is the only edge case with an immediate deep-redraft argument: threes, FT% and low turnovers can produce top-150 upside if he reaches 24 minutes. His dynasty value is lower than the rookie-year utility because this is not a normal development-age asset.
- Alpha Diallo is 29 and entering his first NBA season after winning EuroLeague Best Defender. His five-minute base makes him a steals watch rather than a rookie-draft asset. βNBA rookie seasonβ should not be confused with membership in the 2026 draft class.
Explicit non-rookie exclusions
- Nikola Topic debuted in February 2026 and played ten games; the delayed debut does not make him part of this rookie board.
- Brooks Barnhizer played 40 NBA games in 2025-26, Hugo Gonzalez played 74, and Keshon Gilbert played four. All are young/developmental names, but none belongs in a 2026 rookie ranking.
- Sorber's zero-game season is the clearest formal eligibility edge. The NBA had not published a convenient public 2026-27 rookie-eligibility list at the cutoff, so verify league/platform classification before using him in a rookie-only competition.
Official/team evidence for the undrafted queue includes the Bulls' two-way announcement, Thunder two-way announcement, Heat's Donaldson signing, Cleveland's Udeh signing and the linked player/team dossiers. Contract labels remain more important than Summer League participation.
Summer League evidence boundary
Summer League moved Wilson, Meleek Thomas, Hannes Steinbach and several guards up the watch list, but it did not rewrite the college/draft prior or manufacture NBA minutes.
- Trust role before makes: time on ball, shot attempts, defensive assignment, physical readiness and decision speed are more useful than a two-game shooting percentage.
- Do not import 2026 free-throw percentages directly: Summer League used one attempt worth one, two or three points except late in games and overtime. NBA rule explainer
- Stocks and rebounds are signals, not rates: activity can translate; chaotic pace and opponent quality inflate per-game extremes.
- A shutdown is not automatically an injury: Washington rested Dybantsa after two games. His 25.0-point average and 1-for-11 three-point mark are both too small to stabilize. NBA Dybantsa update
- There is some incremental population-level information: a study using 2006-2019 data found Summer League performance added predictive value after draft slot, but that result does not make one player's tiny sample reliable. Journal of Sports Economics study
The canonical current box-score source is the NBA's 2026 Las Vegas player table. ESPN/ABC's July 17 rookie review is useful precisely because it stated its small viewing sample; it ranked current summer performance rather than long-term fantasy value.
Format shortcuts
- 9-cat priority: Boozer, Wilson, Dybantsa, Peterson, Lendeborg, Wagler, Morez and Mikel Brown. Later specialists: Flemings for assists/steals; Steinbach for rebounds; Tarris/Okpara/Onyenso for conditional blocks.
- Points priority: Dybantsa, Boozer, Acuff, Peterson, Wilson, Mikel Brown and Wagler. Acuff gains the most relative to categories; Lendeborg and Morez lose some scarcity leverage.
- Dynasty priority: the top four are format-dependent but isolated. Wagler/Flemings/Brown/Acuff form the next guard cluster; Morez, Lendeborg and Mara are the contrasting big/forward bets.
- Ordinary 12-team redraft: Boozer is the only rookie with a model case inside the overall top 75. Peterson, Dybantsa, Wilson, Wagler, Brown, Acuff and Lendeborg are price-sensitive late/middle-round bets; most of the class begins on waivers.
- Deep dynasty: contract, two-way status and G League role should reorder DYN 30 onward before preseason. A 0-minute rights player is not a better stash merely because he was drafted.
