Dion Brown

Dion Brown is an Exhibit 10 slashing wing whose likeliest 2026-27 fantasy home is the G League, not Brooklyn's regular rotation.

Role, floor and ceiling

Brown must first survive camp and then compete for the open third two-way slot. Floor: waived before opening night with Long Island rights used as the developmental route. Ceiling: a two-way conversion and short injury-replacement cameos.

Risk monitor

Independent scouting praised his cutting, slashing and wing rebounding but flagged low three-point volume and a negative assist-to-turnover profile. Those limitations make him difficult to project as an NBA off-ball wing. No Ceilings undrafted free-agent tracker, 2026-06

Career record

Pre-NBA: Four college seasons across three programs. UMBC (America East) 2022-23 as a freshman, 22 games, 18.5 mpg, 7.7 pts / 4.0 reb / 0.8 ast on .476 FG, .354 3P, .765 FT. UMBC 2023-24 was the breakout: 32 games, 32.3 mpg, 19.0 pts / 7.6 reb / 2.6 ast / 1.3 stl on .506 FG, .349 3P, .761 FT, with 3.1 turnovers. He transferred up to Boston College (ACC) for 2024-25 and the production collapsed against high-major defense — 31 games, 25.6 mpg, 7.5 pts / 3.9 reb / 1.5 ast on .444 FG, .350 3P. A second transfer, to Saint Louis (Atlantic 10) for 2025-26, produced the efficient senior year: 35 games, 23.7 mpg, 11.3 pts / 5.4 reb / 1.6 ast / 0.9 stl on .616 FG, .400 3P, .754 FT. Career: 120 games, 11.7 pts / 5.3 reb / 1.7 ast on .517 FG, .360 3P, .756 FT. Draft: undrafted (2026); signed an Exhibit 10 with Brooklyn on 2026-06-25.

Brown has never appeared in an NBA regular-season game. His most recent competitive season is the 2025-26 Saint Louis line above.

Durability: No documented injury pattern. He missed roughly a third of his freshman year at UMBC (22 of 32 team games) but played 31, 32 and 35 games in the three seasons since.

Trajectory: The shape of the career is a mid-major volume scorer who could not carry that role up a level, then rebuilt value as an efficient low-usage finisher. The .616 FG at Saint Louis came on a diet of cuts, transition and putbacks rather than self-creation, and the .400 3P sits on low attempt volume, so it should be treated as a small sample rather than a resolved skill. He is competing for Brooklyn's open two-way slot with Long Island as the fallback. He becomes fantasy-relevant only if he converts to a two-way and Brooklyn's wing depth is thinned by injury or a deadline trade — a two-step conditional that rarely resolves inside one season.
