The statistics and projections below are this desk's independent preseason estimates. They are not team promises, sportsbook lines, or copied vendor projections. Roster claims follow 2026-27 fantasy basketball evidence and confidence policy, and the 240-minute reconciliation follows 2026-27 fantasy basketball projection methodology.
State of the team
LA finished 42-40 after starting 6-21, ranked 24th in scoring at 113.8 points per game, 29th in rebounding at 40.6, 30th in assists at 23.7, and 10th in opponent scoring at 112.6. The February trades exchanged James Harden for Darius Garland and moved Ivica Zubac and Kobe Brown for Bennedict Mathurin, Isaiah Jackson, the eventual No. 5 pick and future draft capital. Official Clippers team page, accessed 2026-07-18 · Official Zubac trade/draft-lottery release, 2026-05-10 · NBA Harden-Garland trade report, 2026-02-04
The controlling July fact is procedural. Toronto and LA agreed to a trade that would send Kawhi Leonard to Toronto for Brandon Ingram, Gradey Dick, two first-round picks, two seconds and a swap, but Toronto placed the deal on hold pending an outside-counsel NBA investigation. There is no timetable. Leonard therefore remains the verified Clipper at this cutoff; Ingram and Dick are conditional arrivals, not members of the base projection. Roster audit
The live team page is useful but retains free-agent tiles, so it is reconciled against the league's options, transaction and draft records rather than accepted as a flat list. | Bucket | Players | Cutoff assessment |
|---|---|---|
| Standard / confirmed or functionally locked | Kawhi Leonard, Darius Garland, Keaton Wagler, Rui Hachimura, Derrick Jones Jr., Kris Dunn, Brook Lopez, Isaiah Jackson, Kobe Sanders, Jordan Miller, Yanic Konan Niederhauser, Cam Christie, Baba Miller | Leonard stays until the held trade closes. Hachimura signed for two years; Sanders and Jordan Miller re-signed; Lopez's 2026-27 option was exercised; Wagler and Baba Miller are 2026 draft additions. |
| Two-way | Sean Pedulla, Nick Martinelli | Two of three two-way slots are filled; the third is open. Pedulla is carried by the official G League page; Martinelli signed a two-way in July. Pedulla release · Martinelli signing, third slot open |
| Camp / Exhibit 10 (non-guaranteed) | Fletcher Loyer | Undrafted out of Purdue, signed an Exhibit 10 on 2026-06-25. Camp deal only; convertible to the open third two-way slot, with no standard-roster claim. Hoops Rumors, 2026-06-25 |
| Restricted free agent | Bennedict Mathurin | LA issued a qualifying offer, but no accepted qualifying offer, offer sheet, or new contract was found by the cutoff. He receives no base-rotation minutes until that changes. |
| Draft rights / stash | Narcisse Ngoy | LA acquired the No. 57 pick's rights; Ngoy intends to play at Auburn in 2026-27 rather than occupy an NBA roster slot. NBA draft notes · Ngoy draft profile |
| Conditional trade arrivals | Brandon Ingram, Gradey Dick | Still verified Raptors because the Leonard trade is on hold. |
| Not projected as 2026-27 Clippers | Bradley Beal, Nicolas Batum, Bogdan Bogdanovic, John Collins, TyTy Washington Jr., Norchad Omier | Beal declined his player option; Batum and Bogdanovic had options declined; Collins departed in a sign-and-trade; Washington is a free agent rather than a current two-way. Omier's 2025-26 two-way expired and LA did not tender him a qualifying offer, so he is an unrestricted free agent playing Summer League to earn a deal from LA or elsewhere. Qualifying-offer recap |
Functional depth chart today
| Role | First | Second | Development / emergency |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lead guard | Darius Garland | Kris Dunn | Sean Pedulla |
| Off guard | Keaton Wagler | Kobe Sanders | Jordan Miller, Cam Christie |
| Wing | Kawhi Leonard | Jordan Miller | Nick Martinelli |
| Power forward | Rui Hachimura | Derrick Jones Jr. | Baba Miller |
| Center | Brook Lopez | Isaiah Jackson | Baba Miller (small-ball), Yanic Konan Niederhauser once cleared |
Bennedict Mathurin would enter the top eight if re-signed, but his contract state prevents the chart from pretending that role is settled. The structural pressure points are defensive rebounding after Zubac, enough point-of-attack defense around Garland/Wagler, and whether a 38-year-old Lopez plus Jackson can bridge the center minutes until Niederhauser returns. There is no third emergency big under contract: the third two-way slot is open, and Fletcher Loyer is a guard on a camp deal, not frontcourt cover.
Correction 2026-07-18: Hachimura is now placed first at power forward with Jones second and removed from the second-wing slot. LA gave Hachimura the full non-taxpayer mid-level (2yr/$28M), its largest outlay of the summer, and public lineup projections start him at the four with Jones moved to the bench; the previous chart listed Jones as the swing man at two positions ahead of that signing. Exact 240-minute allocation — official roster today
This is a representative competitive game after Niederhauser is cleared, not each player's season-average MPG, and given his July setback that state is more likely a post-January game than an opening-night one. It intentionally excludes unsigned Mathurin and the held trade return. The player totals sum to 240 regulation minutes.
| Player | Base role | Healthy-night minutes |
|---|---|---|
| Darius Garland | primary initiator | 32 |
| Keaton Wagler | starting combo guard | 28 |
| Kawhi Leonard | first scoring option | 32 |
| Rui Hachimura | starting power forward | 27 |
| Brook Lopez | starting stretch center | 22 |
| Derrick Jones Jr. | defensive forward off the bench | 21 |
| Kris Dunn | defensive guard / secondary initiator | 21 |
| Isaiah Jackson | energy center | 18 |
| Jordan Miller | reserve connector wing | 17 |
| Kobe Sanders | reserve shooting wing | 12 |
| Yanic Konan Niederhauser | third center after rehab | 8 |
| Baba Miller | developmental forward | 2 |
| Cam Christie | outside healthy rotation | 0 |
| Sean Pedulla | two-way guard | 0 |
| Nick Martinelli | two-way forward | 0 |
| Fletcher Loyer | camp deal, non-guaranteed | 0 |
| Bennedict Mathurin | unsigned RFA | 0 |
| Total | 240 |
Correction 2026-07-18: three allocations moved. Hachimura rises 23 to 27 and Jones falls 26 to 21, because the mid-level signing and public lineup projections place Hachimura in the starting five with Jones on the bench. Yahoo/Fadeaway Jordan Miller rises 12 to 17: he averaged 22.1 MPG with 10.0/3.0/2.3 on .531/.345/.777 in 2025-26 and LA re-signed him to three years and $15.3M with the first year guaranteed, so a halving of his role was unsupported. Hoops Rumors, 2026-07-10 The nine minutes were funded by Jones (-5), Sanders (14 to 12), Dunn (22 to 21) and Baba Miller (3 to 2); Omier's zero-minute row was removed outright because he is not under contract. The table still sums to 240.
Before Niederhauser returns — the likelier opening-night state — his eight-minute share moves to Lopez (+3), Jackson (+3) and Baba Miller (+2); the total remains 240. With no third center under contract, that split is fragile and the first Lopez or Jackson absence is a streaming event. Mathurin's return would take roughly 22 minutes from Sanders, Jordan Miller, Dunn and Wagler rather than create a larger rotation.
Conditional 240-minute allocation — only if the Leonard trade closes
This branch removes Leonard and adds Ingram and Dick. It still leaves Mathurin unsigned. It is a scenario, not a roster claim.
| Player | Minutes | Player | Minutes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Darius Garland | 31 | Kris Dunn | 17 |
| Keaton Wagler | 27 | Kobe Sanders | 8 |
| Jordan Miller | 7 | Brandon Ingram | 33 |
| Gradey Dick | 20 | Derrick Jones Jr. | 20 |
| Rui Hachimura | 25 | Baba Miller | 4 |
| Brook Lopez | 22 | Isaiah Jackson | 18 |
| Yanic Konan Niederhauser | 8 | Total | 240 |
If Mathurin also signs, a 22-minute base role is plausible: subtract eight from Dick, six from Sanders, five from Jordan Miller, and three from Dunn. That preserves the 240-minute invariant while showing why every young wing cannot simultaneously receive a fantasy-friendly workload.

Nine-category columns are this desk's per-game medians. GP and MPG are expected appearances and minutes when active, so they need not equal the one-game allocation above. The rank band is rough 12-team, nine-category per-game value over a 180-player rosterable population; totals value is lower for projected absences. The Mathurin line is portable and conditional, not a statement that he has signed.

*Conditional on signing an NBA contract and holding a top-eight role. This desk puts his return to LA at roughly 75-80%: the qualifying offer was tendered and not withdrawn before the July 13 deadline, LA holds Bird rights and right of first refusal, the front office has stated it aims to re-sign him, he has said he wants to stay, reporting places the market near three years and $50M, and a standard roster spot was deliberately left open. Read the board accordingly — the zero-Mathurin base 240 is the verified-contract state, not the modal one, and it inflates Wagler, Sanders and Jordan Miller by roughly the 22 minutes Mathurin would absorb. Hoops Rumors RFA tender · SI on the open roster spot, 2026-07-14
Correction 2026-07-18: Jones's, Hachimura's, Jordan Miller's, Sanders's and Niederhauser's board lines were re-scaled to the revised minute allocation above, and Niederhauser's games estimate cut from 40 to 27 after the July follow-up foot procedure. Omier's line was removed because he is not under contract. An explicit Mathurin return probability was added; the desk still declines to make an unsigned player the primary allocation, consistent with how the Leonard hold is handled.
The veteran baselines come from LA's official end-of-season game notes and the 2025-26 team/player statistics. Rookie translations begin with college production and draft capital, then regress Summer League heavily. Official Clippers game notes · Basketball-Reference 2025-26 Clippers · NBA Wagler profile
Redraft decisions
- Nine-category: Leonard is a late-first/second-round per-game player but a third-round-or-later totals bet because the trade and availability distributions are unusually wide. Garland is a fourth-to-sixth-round assists/threes target. Dunn, Jones, Lopez and Jackson are late specialists; Wagler is a final-round upside pick whose rookie FG% and turnovers can erase the attractive threes/assists. Everyone else starts as a deep-league play.
- Points: Leonard remains the clear first Clipper. Garland's assists give him a top-45-to-70 path, and Wagler gains relative value because mistakes hurt less in many scoring systems. Mathurin would be more useful in points than nine-category leagues if he returns. Jackson becomes a short-term volume stream whenever the center room is depleted, and with no third big under contract that room is thin from opening night.
- Build effects: Jackson rises sharply in punt-FT%; Dunn and Jones fit steals/stocks builds; Lopez supplies rare blocks plus threes but little rebounding; Rui is mostly a low-turnover percentages/points stabilizer rather than a category winner.
Dynasty map and market disagreement
The July 18 Hashtag crowd board ranks Garland 65th, Wagler 71st, Leonard 86th, Mathurin 113th, Jordan Miller 166th, Kobe Sanders 193rd, Baba Miller 304th and Niederhauser 331st. Those are market signals, not projections. More importantly, the same live board labels Leonard TOR, Ingram and Dick LAC, and Hachimura LAL; it therefore reflects the reported trade rather than the official hold state and cannot establish roster identity. Hashtag keeper market, accessed 2026-07-18
- Franchise-value tier: Wagler and Garland. Wagler has the longer runway; Garland has the much stronger near-term production floor.
- Contending dynasty assets: Leonard despite age, and Mathurin only if his contract/role becomes stable.
- Speculative youth: Sanders, Baba Miller and Niederhauser. Their community ranks are much wider than their paths to immediate 12-team value. Correction 2026-07-18: Jordan Miller is moved out of this tier. A guaranteed first year on a three-year, $15.3M deal after a 22.1-MPG season makes him an established rotation piece being paid to hold a role, not a speculative bet; Hashtag's 166th sits closer to the desk's revised 17-minute line than to the previous 12.
- Low-liquidity veterans: Dunn, Jones, Lopez and Hachimura. Their value is format- and contender-specific, not protected by age.

- Social (Grade D): July 18 fan discussion praised Omier's Summer League rebounding and Pedulla's pace while sharply disagreeing about their NBA processing and ceilings. Omier is playing that Summer League as an unsigned free agent, so the thread is a scouting lead on a roster candidate, not on a rostered Clipper. Injury and role fault lines
- Niederhauser: a right-foot Lisfranc ligament tear required surgery and ended his rookie season. He then underwent a second, follow-up procedure this offseason to remove the hardware from the March operation and was still in a walking boot in mid-July; Law Murray reported the removal is a normal part of the recovery but does not expect him ready for opening night, and would not be surprised if he does not play until after Christmas. A player-reported five-to-eight-month estimate relayed in April pointed to November or December; the July procedure pushes that later, and there is still no official clearance date. Availability confidence is low, and the base 240 above should be read as a post-January game. ESPN, 2026-03-06 · Hoops Rumors on the follow-up procedure, 2026-07 · reporter relay/social lead, 2026-04-18
- Correction 2026-07-18: games projection cut from 40 to 27 and minutes from 12.0 to 11.0. The prior line predated the follow-up hardware-removal procedure and the still-in-a-boot status.
- Garland: the official game notes record 45 total games and repeated left-toe management after the trade. His rate confidence is much higher than his availability confidence.
- Leonard: he played 65 games and produced a career-high 27.9 points, but ankle management and the transaction/investigation state widen both games and team-role outcomes.
- Jones / Jordan Miller / Jackson: Jones lost a long stretch to a knee sprain; Jordan Miller dealt with hamstring, ankle and back issues; Jackson finished with an ankle sprain. Their GP estimates should not be read as health guarantees.
- Mathurin: his RFA status is more important than whether he is nominally second or third on a July depth chart. A sign-and-trade, accepted qualifying offer, multiyear return and prolonged holdout produce different minute/usage states.
Team outcome scenarios
| Scenario | Wins | West range | Fantasy consequence |
|---|---|---|---|
| Leonard remains, normal health | 39-45 | 7th-12th | Leonard retains elite per-game value; Wagler develops in a narrower role; Garland assists stay stable. |
| Held trade closes, Mathurin returns | 31-37 | 10th-14th | Ingram becomes the first scorer, Garland/Wagler share creation, and the wing rotation becomes crowded. |
| Trade closes, Mathurin leaves, youth plays | 27-34 | 12th-15th | Wagler, Sanders, Jordan Miller and Baba Miller gain the clearest development runway. |
| Medical / investigation downside | 24-30 | 14th-15th | Garland and the young guards absorb usage; shutdown and trade-deadline volatility rise. |
2026-27 NBA team outcomes centers LA at 32 wins under a roster snapshot that assumed the Leonard trade return. The official-roster-today branch is higher because 60 projected games of Leonard are materially better in 2026-27 than treating the deal as complete. The blended desk center is 34 wins, but that average is less actionable than the branch conditions.
Monitoring calendar
- Daily until resolution: NBA investigation and formal Leonard/Ingram/Dick transaction status.
- RFA window: Mathurin contract, offer sheet, qualifying offer or sign-and-trade.
- September: Garland toe clearance, Leonard destination, Niederhauser rehab, and the final standard-contract count.
- Preseason: Wagler on-ball share, Dunn versus Sanders/Jordan Miller reserve order, starting forward pairing, and Brook/Jackson center split.
- December through deadline: veteran trades, especially Leonard if the Toronto deal collapses, and whether development replaces short-term wins as the priority.
Confidence map
| Component | Confidence | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Roster | Low | One agreed star trade is formally on hold and one top-eight wing is an unsigned RFA. |
| Minutes | Low-medium | The base 240 is coherent, but either transaction redistributes 20-35 minutes. |
| Rates | Medium-high for veterans; low-medium for rookies | Veteran 2025-26 rates are strong; Wagler/Baba translations and deep-player stocks remain noisy. |
| Availability | Medium-low | Leonard, Garland and Niederhauser carry the highest-leverage medical distributions. |

Open questions
- Does the Leonard trade close unchanged, get amended after the investigation, or collapse?
- Does Mathurin sign, accept the qualifying offer, receive an offer sheet, or leave in a sign-and-trade?
- When is Niederhauser medically cleared for full-contact work and NBA games after Lisfranc surgery?
- Can Garland and Wagler share enough creation without becoming a targetable defensive backcourt?
- Who closes at the four: Hachimura's shooting, Jones's defense, or a larger Baba Miller development bet?
- Which of Sanders, Jordan Miller and Dunn retains a nightly role if both the trade and Mathurin return occur?
- Who fills the open third two-way slot — Fletcher Loyer via Exhibit 10 conversion, a returning Omier, or an outside signing?
- With no third center under contract before Niederhauser is cleared, does LA add a big with the $17M Collins trade exception or ride Lopez and Jackson?
