Research record
- Cutoff: 2026-07-18, America/New_York.
- Access date for every live URL below: 2026-07-18 unless stated otherwise.
- Publisher surfaces audited: the public FantraxHQ NBA category, its WordPress post/API record, site search, the JavaScript Fantrax game landing page, and the Fantrax NBA fantasy-columns route.
- Season rule: a current site shell, current team code, or recent access date does not make an older table a 2026-27 forecast. The page's own season, horizon, publication date, and underlying player pool control.
- Terminology: “not found publicly” means no qualifying item was recovered from the audited public surfaces. It does not prove that no league-specific data exists inside a signed-in Fantrax league.

The strongest direct audit evidence is FantraxHQ's NBA fantasy category and its dated category-post API query. The API returned one category-27 post between the end of the 2025-26 regular season and the research cutoff: the July 2 Kessler article. A separate all-category WordPress search for basketball in the same interval found no additional NBA fantasy post. Category tags can be imperfect, so the conclusion remains “not found on the audited public record,” not an absolute claim about unpublished or authenticated material.
Genuinely 2026-27-forward material
Walker Kessler after the Lakers trade
Source: Jacob Dunne, “Fantasy Outlook: Why the Walker Kessler Trade Makes Him a League Winner”, published and last modified 2026-07-02 in FantraxHQ's WordPress metadata; accessed 2026-07-18.
This is a real next-season outlook. It follows Kessler's 2026 offseason move from Utah to the Lakers, discusses his upcoming role, and gives a forward minutes/stat/round thesis. It is not titled “2026-27,” but its temporal referent is unambiguous.
Directly verifiable article claims
- The article records the trade as Kessler to the Lakers for two first-round picks and two first-round swaps, together with a four-year, $130 million extension. Those transaction facts should still be checked against an official NBA or team source before entering the roster ledger; FantraxHQ is secondary analysis.
- It prints Kessler's historical per-36 lines for 2022-23 through 2025-26. For the five-game 2025-26 sample, it displays 16.8 points, 12.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.6 steals, 2.1 blocks, 70.3% FG, and 70.0% FT per 36 minutes.
- Dunne expects roughly 30 minutes per game. His stated conservative 28-minute extrapolation from the prior two seasons is 10.5 points, 10.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 2.1 blocks.
- The fantasy thesis is category-specific: Kessler should anchor FG%, rebounds, and blocks, add low turnovers, and carry a low-volume FT% risk.
- Dunne calls second- to third-round fantasy value plausible while guessing the market price may remain in the fourth round or later. That is an analyst's price expectation, not Fantrax ADP and not a completed mock result.
- The article also floats Defensive Player of the Year contention and possible perimeter improvement. Those are upside opinions, not projections with published probabilities.
Method and confidence limits
The numeric line is a minutes-scaled extrapolation, not a disclosed possession model or a full season forecast. The article does not publish projected games, team pace, usage, shooting volume, a scoring format beyond the category discussion, league size, replacement level, or uncertainty intervals. Its “league winner,” “guaranteed minutes,” and round-value language is deliberately confident editorial framing. Preserve the specific inputs and outputs; do not convert the prose into a high-confidence rank.
The forecast also predates any roster or health change after July 2. Recheck the Lakers' center depth, Kessler's repaired shoulder, schedule, and real ADP before using the take in September. Compare with Walker Kessler and the current Los Angeles Lakers desk rather than copying the article's depth-chart assumptions.
Cleveland: what Fantrax does and does not establish
FantraxHQ supplied no current 2026-27 Cavaliers ranking, projection, draft call, keeper/dynasty update, or team outlook on the audited public record. It therefore does not resolve the encyclopedia's live Cleveland questions around James Harden, LeBron James, Jaylon Tyson, or the wing rotation.
The only useful Cleveland evidence is older and belongs below the season boundary. It can show how Fantrax valued the prior roster and which methodology its writers used. It cannot anchor a 2026-27 rank without a new edition.
2025-26 archive — retrospective only
Everything in this section was written for the 2025-26 season or its stretch run. Current-looking site chrome and present-day access do not change that horizon.
Preseason category board
Source: Mart Jürisoo, “2025-26 Fantasy Basketball Category League Rankings”, published 2025-09-22, WordPress modified 2025-10-06, accessed 2026-07-18.
The stated model uses a weighted average of the prior three seasons' per-minute statistics, then adjusts for age, projected minutes, projected games, and an openly acknowledged manual reasonableness pass. It ranks eight categories—points, rebounds, assists, blocks, steals, threes, FG%, and FT%—and excludes turnovers. Jürisoo nevertheless recommends the list for nine-category leagues because high-usage stars often commit turnovers. Tiers are intended to matter more than small within-tier rank differences, especially late.
Important ambiguity: the page does not publish its minutes/games inputs, player stat projections, weights, replacement level, z-score construction, or whether the final ordering should be read as per-game or total-value output. It is a useful editorial model description, not a reproducible projection system.
Cavaliers on that 2025-26 board
| Player on the September 2025 roster | Rank | Tier | Strict treatment |
|---|---|---|---|
| Donovan Mitchell | 12 | III | 2025-26 eight-category draft rank |
| Evan Mobley | 50 | VII | 2025-26 eight-category draft rank |
| Jarrett Allen | 51 | VII | 2025-26 eight-category draft rank |
| Darius Garland | 52 | VII | Historical Cleveland rank before his later move |
| De'Andre Hunter | 157 | XV | Deep prior-season rank |
Jaylon Tyson did not appear in the visible top 194. These ranks describe a different roster and must not be blended with Cleveland's current Harden/Mitchell/Mobley construction.
Preseason points board
Source: Jacob Dunne, “2025 Fantasy Basketball Points League Top 250 Rankings”, published 2025-09-20, WordPress modified 2025-09-22, accessed 2026-07-18.
The page explicitly uses: 1 point per point scored, 1.2 per rebound, 1.5 per assist, 3 per block, 3 per steal, and −1 per turnover. Dunne's ranking philosophy emphasizes usage, availability, team competitiveness, playoff availability, and shutdown risk. It is not a universal “Fantrax scoring” table; Fantrax leagues are customizable, and changing the scoring equation changes the order.
| 2025-26 Cleveland player | Rank | Tier |
|---|---|---|
| Donovan Mitchell | 23 | 5 |
| Evan Mobley | 28 | 6 |
| Darius Garland | 58 | 10 |
| Jarrett Allen | 70 | 11 |
| De'Andre Hunter | 169 | 19 |
| Lonzo Ball | 225 | 22 |
| Max Strus | 227 | 22 |
Jaylon Tyson was not in the top 250. This was a September forecast, not a 2025-26 result table and not a 2026-27 starting point.
Auction values and draft evidence
- Jürisoo's 2025-26 auction values were published 2025-10-07 and optimized for eight categories and 156 rostered players. The Cleveland prices were Mitchell $58 / No. 12, Mobley $22 / No. 50, Allen $22 / No. 51, and Garland $21 / No. 52. The page does not state the total budget or team count; do not transplant the dollars into a different setup. WordPress's modified field is 2025-10-06, slightly earlier than the scheduled/displayed publication date, so no later update is inferred.
- Dunne's 2025 points-league industry mock was published 2025-10-10. Twelve named analysts used the same 1/1.2/1.5/3/3/−1 scoring equation. Evan Mobley went ninth overall and Donovan Mitchell 18th. Those are participant selections, not platform ADP or editorial consensus.
- Jürisoo's 30-team sleepers article was published 2025-10-02. Cleveland's selection was Jaylon Tyson: the page displayed a 2024-25 fantasy rank of 458, an ADP rank of 352, and a 2025 Summer League line of 19.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 6.7 assists. The recommendation was a deep-league flyer or dynasty pick because Garland and Strus were injured. That injury-created case was for fall 2025; it is not a present 27-minute forecast.
- JJ Marujo's 15 biggest 2025 offseason moves was published 2025-09-09. It is a prior-offseason league survey and contains no substantive current Cavaliers move. It belongs in historical context only.
Late-season rest-of-season board
Source: Jacob Dunne, “Fantasy Basketball Points League Rankings: March Edition”, published and last modified 2026-02-27, accessed 2026-07-18.
This was a 2025-26 rest-of-season points ranking entering fantasy playoffs, not an early 2026-27 board. The page says it weighs team competitiveness, late-season absence risk, tank incentives, injuries and return timelines, fantasy-playoff schedules, role security, and recent minute trends. It does not restate a scoring equation, so the prior preseason formula should not be assumed silently.
| Player shown with Cleveland on 2026-02-27 | ROS rank | Tier |
|---|---|---|
| Donovan Mitchell | 13 | 3 |
| James Harden | 25 | 5 |
| Evan Mobley | 35 | 5 |
| Jarrett Allen | 48 | 7 |
| Jaylon Tyson | 152 | 13 |
| Dennis Schröder | 153 | 13 |
Darius Garland was listed as a Clipper at No. 70, correctly placing the table after the Harden–Garland deadline trade in Fantrax's chronology. The ranks encode March schedule and shutdown considerations; they should be retained as a dated prior-season valuation snapshot, not carried forward mechanically.
Older dynasty archive — not a current keeper board
The newest full public FantraxHQ NBA dynasty ranking found at the cutoff was Kirk Snyder's “2024-25 Top 250 Dynasty Basketball Rankings (April Update)”, published 2025-04-22 and modified later that day. The introduction explicitly says it is heading into 2025-26.
Its then-Cavaliers ranks were Mobley 17, Garland 35, Mitchell 40, Allen 85, Hunter 147, Ty Jerome 166, Strus 198, and Tyson 246. It predates the 2025-26 season, the 2026 draft, major transactions, and a full year of development and aging. It can document old market opinion or test ranking drift. It cannot represent Fantrax's 2026-27 dynasty view.
The sleepers article's passing description of Tyson as a possible dynasty pick is not a keeper ranking. FantraxHQ marketing copy says the platform supports dynasty and keeper leagues, but product support does not establish an editorial valuation board.
Projection and platform boundary
FantraxHQ's 2025-26 category methodology confirms that at least one writer used internal projected minutes and games, but those primitive projections were not printed. The public 2026 Kessler article prints one scaled stat line. Neither supplies a league-wide 2026-27 projection file.
The main Fantrax NBA game landing page returned only the JavaScript application shell to anonymous text extraction, with the instruction to enable JavaScript. The NBA fantasy-columns route likewise exposed no usable static table. No account, private league, or league-specific export was used.
Consequences:
- Current Fantrax app rankings, projections, roster percentages, and ADP—if already present inside leagues—remain unverified, not proven absent.
- A signed-in league's “Rank Players” output may depend on league scoring, roster rules, eligibility, and commissioner settings. It must be captured with those settings and an extraction timestamp.
- The public FantraxHQ articles are fully readable without a subscription; the access problem is the JavaScript/authenticated application surface, not a FantraxHQ article paywall.
- Search snippets or third-party pages that say “Fantrax rankings” do not become Fantrax primary evidence unless they reproduce a dated platform export with format and league context.

Encyclopedia import rules
- Import the Kessler article only as a dated analyst scenario: 28–30 minutes, the printed scaled line, and second/third-round upside versus guessed fourth-round cost.
- Never label any September/October 2025 rank, auction value, mock pick, or ADP as 2026-27.
- Keep the February 27 table in the 2025-26 retrospective lane; its fantasy-playoff and shutdown logic is intentionally short-horizon.
- Keep the April 2025 dynasty board in an older archive lane. Do not average it into current dynasty consensus.
- For Cleveland, record Fantrax's current contribution as no public forward signal, then use other dated sources for Harden, Tyson, and roster-state analysis.
- If app data is captured later, save the season label, league ID or settings, scoring formula, rank type, player pool, timestamp, and whether the value is Fantrax rank, projection, roster percentage, or ADP.
Open questions
- When will FantraxHQ publish its 2026-27 NBA draft kit, category board, points board, sleepers, auction values, and mock?
- Will a new dynasty/keeper list replace the April 2025 archive, and what horizon and scoring format will it use?
- Does the signed-in Fantrax app already expose 2026-27 projections or ADP, and can a reproducible league-specific export be obtained with settings attached?
- Will Fantrax revisit Kessler after training camp and publish projected games, minutes, and a full category line?
- Which, if any, Cavaliers receive a FantraxHQ forward article once Harden's contract and Cleveland's final roster are settled?
