Source identity and canonical surfaces
- Host/creator: Josh Lloyd; the public show description calls Locked On Fantasy Basketball a daily fantasy-basketball podcast with news, analysis, and an explicit fantasy lens. Official Locked On show page
- Canonical audio feed: Simplecast RSS. The feed is the cleanest source for exact title, publication time, episode sequence, description, duration, and enclosure. It was current through July 17, 2026 at 01:43 UTC when extracted.
- Apple Podcasts: show page. Individual Apple episode pages expose useful descriptions and dates but returned intermittent HTTP 500 responses during a link audit; the RSS feed remained available.
- YouTube: @LockedOnFantasyBasketball, canonical channel ID
UC1I9lmlRwqSehJzlRo6DKqg; XML video feed. The channel includes full episodes plus short clips, so clip titles must not be mistaken for separate rankings. - Cadence: daily during the season and frequent through the offseason. The source is therefore best treated as a dated stream of revisions, not a static preseason publication.
Bottom line for the encyclopedia
- Usable now: attributed opinions about changing roles, statistical sustainability, category relationships, rookie/dynasty tiers, free-agency fallout, and team/player watch lists.
- Not publicly available at cutoff: a complete, season-labelled 2026-27 rank, ADP set, auction board, game projection, minute projection, or all-player nine-category table authored by Lloyd.
- Do not manufacture ranks from episode order. “Top 9,” “seven rookies,” mock-draft order, and discussion sequence answer different questions. None is automatically a 12-team redraft board.
- Episode descriptions are metadata, not transcripts. This note records subjects and the claims explicitly present in those descriptions. It does not put unverified wording, numerical ranks, or projections in Lloyd's mouth.
- Freshness matters more than reputation. A 2025-26 team preview, April schedule episode, or season recap remains useful historical context but cannot override July transactions or become a 2026-27 projection merely because it is still searchable.
Current 2026-27-forward episode ledger
The following episodes explicitly look toward 2026-27 or teach a method used to construct 2026-27 projections.
| Published | Episode | Verified scope and safe use |
|---|---|---|
| 2026-07-17 | Can Analytics Solve Fantasy Basketball? | Uses blocks, steals, assists, role, team context, luck, DARKO DPM, and on-ball percentage to question apparent breakouts. Safe use: regression/process evidence, not a player rank. |
| 2026-07-16 | The Biggest NBA Surprise Shooting Risers & Fallers | Flags volatile 2025-26 shooting changes and explicitly includes Jaylon Tyson, Ayo Dosunmu, Anfernee Simons, Trae Young, Domantas Sabonis, Jerami Grant, Paul George, Christian Braun, and Cleveland's playmaker context. Safe use: a list of shooting-regression questions; the public description does not provide a Tyson numerical forecast. |
| 2026-07-15 | Fantasy Basketball Statistical Correlations & Why Turnovers Suck | Discusses the natural PTS/AST relationship, the tension between 3PM and FG%, the relative independence of STL/BLK, and whether emphasizing low TO in head-to-head can suppress upside. Safe use: roster-build methodology. |
| 2026-07-14 | Can Nickeil Alexander-Walker Repeat His Fantasy Playoff Heroics Next Year? | Examines whether late-season runs by Alexander-Walker, Cooper Flagg, Darius Garland, Kyle Filipowski, Reed Sheppard, Matas Buzelis, Maxime Raynaud, and Gui Santos survive new context. Safe use: late-split skepticism and opportunity leads. |
| 2026-07-13 | The Top 9 Fantasy Basketball Players on New Teams for 2026/27 | Covers fantasy ripple effects for Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kawhi Leonard, Jaylen Brown, Walker Kessler, LaMelo Ball, Julius Randle, Paul George, Tyler Herro, and other moved players. This is a change-of-team shortlist, not a top-nine overall rank. |
| 2026-07-07 | Could LaMelo Crater Ant's Scoring? Looking at Regression Risks for 26/27 | Reviews year-over-year movement across scoring, rebounds, assists, defensive stats, and FT%, and argues that last season's rank alone is unsafe. Safe use: category-specific regression priors. |
| 2026-07-02 | Jaylen Brown Traded; Kessler to LA; Free Agency Day 2 | News-response episode covering trades, depth-chart consequences, contract values, and camp battles, including Dean Wade's move. Use as dated analyst fallout; official transaction sources remain authoritative. |
| 2026-07-01 | LeBron Leaves Lakers; NBA Free Agency Day 1 |
The official RSS description names LeBron's exit, Giannis/Kawhi/LaMelo movement, James Harden as an unresolved free agent, and role fallout. It is directly relevant to Cleveland's scenario tree but does not establish LeBron's destination or Harden's contract. Official RSS feed |
| 2026-06-30 | These NBA Roles Will Decide Fantasy Basketball Drafts |
Focuses on unresolved lead-guard, wing, and center jobs created by offseason moves. This supports explicit role ranges and camp triggers rather than false precision. Official RSS feed |
| 2026-06-28 | Boozer, AJ, or Darryn? Ranking the Rookies for Dynasty Fantasy Basketball |
A top-of-class dynasty comparison. Do not merge it mechanically with redraft opportunity ranks. Official RSS feed |
| 2026-06-26 | Dynasty Rookie Ranks for the 2026 NBA Draft Class — Part 1 | Covers players outside the top 12 for deep dynasty leagues and explicitly frames development horizon, draft capital, and landing spot. The description recommends a separate rookie draft for 300-deep formats; it is not 12-team redraft guidance. |
| 2026-06-24 | 2026 NBA Draft Recap: 7 Rookies to Draft + Winners & Losers |
Post-draft opportunity pass. The “seven” is an episode construct, not a complete rookie projection board. Official RSS feed |
| 2026-06-22 | 2026 NBA Draft Mock Draft — All 60 Picks | Lloyd's personal 60-pick mock, led by Cameron Boozer at No. 1. It evaluates prospect quality and fit; mock slot is not dynasty or redraft rank. |
| 2026-06-17 | 2026 NBA Draft Mock — I Still Have Cam Boozer at Pick 1 | Pre-draft fit/upside board; description specifically flags Meleek Thomas as a possible riser. Superseded for landing spot by the real draft, but still useful as talent evaluation. |
| 2026-06-04 | 2026 prospects: Caleb Wilson, Meleek Thomas, Quadir Copeland & more | Lloyd and Stephen Gillaspie discuss Thomas's NBA readiness, translation, age/injury curves, and second-round-sleeper context. The accessible description gives topics, not a precise Thomas rank or stat line. |
Draft-scouting series coverage
The June feed contains prospect-specific episodes with guests from No Ceilings and other draft analysts. It covers Cameron Boozer, AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson, Yaxel Lendeborg, Nate Ament, Mikel Brown Jr., Keaton Wagler, Brayden Burries, Koa Peat, Karim Lopez, Alex Karaban, Tarris Reed Jr., Tamin Lipsey, Otega Oweh, Ryan Conwell, Jaden Bradley, Bruce Thornton, Ugonna Onyenso, and many deep second-round names. Representative dated pages:
- Caleb Wilson/Meleek Thomas group, June 4
- Brayden Burries/Koa Peat group, June 11
- Keaton Wagler group, June 15
- Final guard group, June 18
For player pages, extract the prospect's explicitly stated strengths, weaknesses, statistical translation, and range of outcomes. Do not turn a guest comparison into Lloyd's personal view unless the speaker is identified.
Cleveland Cavaliers source packet
Current forward evidence
- Meleek Thomas — June 4 and June 17. The June 4 episode is the strongest player-specific source: it explicitly covers readiness, Calipari/Arkansas context, cross-league translation, age/injury curves, and possible second-round value. The June 17 mock description says Thomas could rise above his expected slot. Neither page provides a public 2026-27 minute or stat projection. Cleveland later selected him 34th, so landing-spot analysis must be supplied separately.
- Jaylon Tyson — July 16. Tyson appears in the shooting risers/fallers episode as a test of whether exceptional shooting improvement persists. Record this as a regression flag, not a declaration that he is a bust. The encyclopedia's move from .493 FG in 2025-26 to .465 is directionally consistent with this risk without claiming Lloyd authored that number.
- James Harden/LeBron scenario — July 1. The free-agency episode treated Harden as unresolved and LeBron's destination as open. It is an analyst snapshot, not transaction confirmation; Cleveland's base rotation remains conditional until official news.
- Team outcome process — April 16. NBA Playoffs Picks & Reviewing NBA Season Wins Predictions reviews preseason misses and explicitly includes Cleveland's slide and lessons for next season. The description does not expose a 2026-27 Cleveland win number, so none should be inferred.
- No current Cavaliers 2026-27 team preview found. The feed had not yet reached the normal late-summer team-preview cycle by July 18. This is a refresh trigger, not evidence that the existing team page is complete forever.
Historical Cleveland evidence—do not relabel
| Published | Item | Proper use |
|---|---|---|
| 2025-08-20 | Cleveland Cavaliers 25/26 preview | Historical prior on Atkinson's rotation, Mitchell usage, Mobley development, Allen block concern, and pace. It predates the Harden trade and 2026 offseason. |
| 2026-02-02 | Jarrett Allen Did What? Sunday recap | Game/short-window performance context only. |
| 2026-03-01 and 03-03 | Monday waiver preview · Wednesday streaming guide | 2025-26 schedule and streaming context; Cleveland's light/two-game weeks do not describe the unpublished 2026-27 schedule. |
| 2026-04-04 | End-of-season streaming | Late-rest and back-to-back evidence for 2025-26 only. |
Methodology signals worth preserving
- Separate skill from opportunity. The offseason role episode and prospect series repeatedly make landing spot, minutes, usage, and development horizon explicit. A player can be a strong prospect and a poor Year 1 redraft pick.
- Regress unstable inputs. July episodes isolate shooting percentages, defensive stats, late-season splits, and team context instead of rolling the last leaderboard forward unchanged.
- Builds change rank. Category correlations mean one universal rank conceals strategy: assists/points tend to travel together; high 3PM can fight FG%; blocks and steals can be scarcer independent levers; turnover value changes between roto and head-to-head.
- Do not worship last year's rank. The July 7 regression episode directly frames 2025-26 results as a starting point, not a forecast.
- Use ranges around unresolved roles. Free-agency and camp battles make precise July minute forecasts fragile. The encyclopedia should retain base/floor/ceiling branches and update after official signings and preseason rotations.
- Format must always travel with the take. Rookie dynasty, nine-category, points, roto, and head-to-head advice answer different questions.
Access and data-quality limitations
- Apple descriptions sometimes read like promotional summaries. They are sufficient to verify episode subjects and named players, not every conclusion or numerical assertion made in the audio.
- The public feeds do not supply a stable written transcript. YouTube may expose automatic captions interactively, but no complete transcript corpus was imported in this pass.
- Apple episode URLs intermittently returned HTTP 500 in automated checks. The same publication dates/titles were corroborated in the Simplecast RSS and the official YouTube feed where available.
- The podcast uses guests. Store
speaker, episode, timestamp, format, anddatefor every exact take; never flatten a guest opinion into “Josh Lloyd says.” - Episode numbering in Apple/search output was inconsistent and occasionally displayed abbreviated counts such as
3.2K. Use title + publication timestamp + URL as the identity key. - No public revision history exists for an analyst's evolving view. Preserve the dated snapshot instead of silently overwriting it.
- Full audio is copyrighted. The vault should paraphrase narrowly, quote only short necessary excerpts, and link the episode rather than republishing transcripts.
Import policy for player and team pages
- Official NBA/team transactions, contracts, injuries, and rosters remain authoritative facts.
- Use Locked On as dated analyst evidence for role, category, regression, prospect, and team-outcome arguments.
- If an episode supplies a numerical rank/projection, record scoring format, league size, per-game versus totals, games-played assumption, speaker, timestamp, and publication date.
- If only the title/description is accessible, say “episode covers/flags/discusses,” not “Lloyd projects/ranks.”
- A team recap is a retrospective prior. A trade-reaction episode is an immediate scenario update. A final preseason team preview, when published, should receive greater forward weight.
- Keep disagreement visible. Do not average Lloyd, RotoWire, Hashtag, Basketball Monster, Fantrax, and community ranks unless their formats and horizons match.
Refresh triggers
- Harden signs with Cleveland or elsewhere.
- LeBron chooses a team and Cleveland's resulting salary moves become official.
- Locked On publishes its 2026-27 Cavaliers team preview.
- A full all-player mock draft, numerical rank set, or Basketball Monster 2026-27 projections become publicly identifiable.
- Training camp produces a Strus/Tyson starter decision or a Thomas NBA/G League assignment.
- YouTube episodes expose a verified timestamped take on Tyson regression, Mobley's FT%, or Cleveland's rotation.
Open questions
- When will Lloyd publish the first complete 2026-27 nine-category and points-league boards?
- Will the normal 30-team preview series include exact Cleveland minute and game projections?
- Where does Thomas sit in Lloyd's post-landing-spot rookie board, and is the rank category, points, or blended dynasty?
- What exact 2025-26 shooting inputs did the July 16 episode flag for Tyson, and what regression magnitude did Lloyd prefer?
- How will Harden/LeBron outcomes change Mitchell, Mobley, and Allen in Lloyd's final preseason model?
- Can future transcript extraction capture only the needed timestamps without storing copyrighted full-text transcripts?
