Bryce Hopkins

Bryce Hopkins is a productive rebounding forward and Denver draft-rights prospect, but his unsigned status, older rookie profile and unclear defensive position make him a deep-dynasty watch rather than a current roster projection.

Team rights: Denver Nuggets · Position: SF/PF · Rookie season · Pick No. 49

Reported baseline

Hopkins averaged 13.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.1 steals, 0.9 threes and 0.3 blocks in 28.8 minutes over 37 college games, shooting 46.9% from the field and 71.3% at the line.1 Denver selected him 49th, but the July 13 roster report still listed him outside the 12 signed standard contracts.2 3

His July Summer League included 24 points, four rebounds, three steals and two blocks against Houston, followed by games of 16/7, 14/7 and 18/8.4 That establishes productivity against Summer League competition, not a guaranteed NBA contract or role.

Role and confidence

Hopkins' role cannot be projected as if he is signed. Denver already has 12 standard contracts, two unresolved RFAs and a crowded forward group. Contract confidence low, minutes low, rate low, availability medium.

Career record

Pre-NBA: Five college seasons across three schools. Buried as a Kentucky freshman in 2021-22 (28 games, 6.5 MPG, 2.1 points), then transferred to Providence and immediately became a lead option: 2022-23 brought 33 games at 34.9 MPG with 15.8 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists on .452/.364/.759 and First-team All-Big East. He was on the same pace in 2023-24 (14 games, 15.5 points, 8.6 rebounds) when he tore an ACL in January 2024. The injury cost him the rest of that year and effectively all of 2024-25, in which he appeared in only three games. He transferred to St. John's for 2025-26 and played a full healthy season: 37 games, 28.8 MPG, 13.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.1 steals, 0.3 blocks and 0.9 threes on .469/.363/.713, earning Second-team All-Big East. Draft: 2026, round 2, pick 49, Denver Nuggets.

Hopkins has never appeared in an NBA regular season game. His most recent competitive season is the 2025-26 St. John's line above; as of mid-July 2026 he had not signed an NBA contract, with Denver holding his draft rights.

Durability: The ACL tear in January 2024 is the defining item — it ended 2023-24 after 14 games and held him to three games in 2024-25. The 37 games he played at St. John's in 2025-26 are the counter-evidence, and the most useful fact in his file: a full season, at high minutes, two years out from the injury.

Trajectory: Hopkins is a five-year college forward who was a genuine Big East primary option before the knee, and who proved in 2025-26 that he could still carry 29 minutes a night. What he did not prove is a position — he rebounds like a four and shoots like a three without doing either at NBA scale, which is why he went 49th at age 22 rather than earlier. Denver's forward group is crowded and the team was carrying 12 standard contracts in mid-July, so his 2026-27 depends first on contract form, not minutes. He becomes worth a dynasty roster spot only if he converts to a two-way or standard deal and an injury opens the backup forward slot behind Denver's starters; absent a contract, his fantasy line for the season is zero.
