Caleb Wilson

Caleb Wilson is an immediate stocks-and-rebounds rookie with star dynasty equity, but his jumper, free throws, turnovers, and hand history widen the redraft range.

Team context: Chicago Bulls · Research cutoff: July 18, 2026.

Role and baseline

Chicago selected Wilson fourth overall. At North Carolina he averaged 19.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.4 blocks in 31.3 minutes across 24 games on .578/.713 shooting; he made only 0.3 threes per game at 25.9%. NBA draft page · College Basketball Reference

His Summer League began with a record 35-point Las Vegas debut and included 19 points, eight rebounds, and five blocks against Utah. Treat those games as role/skill evidence, not a new statistical baseline. NBA.com, July 10, 2026 · Bulls, July 14, 2026

Amoye Favour projected 13.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.8 stocks, with a seventh/eighth-round redraft price and top-five rookie dynasty status on June 29. Dan Titus ranked Wilson first among the top four 2026 picks for fantasy on July 14 and said he could overtake Buzelis as Chicago's second option. These are opinions, not consensus. Career record

Pre-NBA: Holy Innocents' Episcopal School (Sandy Springs, GA), where he averaged 21.6 points, 11.1 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 3.6 blocks and 2.1 steals as a senior and won the school's first state title; Mr. Georgia Basketball, 2025 McDonald's All-American and Jordan Brand Classic selection, consensus five-star ranked in the top 10 of the 2025 class across services. Committed to North Carolina over Kentucky and Ohio State on 2025-01-24. One season at North Carolina (2025-26, ACC): 24 games, all starts, 31.3 MPG, 19.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.5 steals, 1.4 blocks on .578 FG, .259 3P, .713 FT — roughly 0.3 threes made per game. Consensus second-team All-American, first-team All-ACC, ACC All-Rookie. The season ended in early March; see durability. Draft: 2026-06-23, round 1, pick 4, Chicago Bulls — no draft-night trade.

NBA record: none. Wilson has not played an NBA regular-season game; his first will come in 2026-27.

2026 Summer League (Las Vegas): four games, 23.5 points and 7.3 rebounds per game, sitting out Chicago's final game. Game log — 35 points in his Vegas debut against Memphis; 19 points (8-17 FG, 3-8 3P, 0-6 FT), 8 rebounds, 5 blocks, 2 assists, 2 steals in 29 minutes against Utah; 19 points (7-15 FG, 2-6 3P), 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block in 24 minutes against Washington; 21 points (7-15 FG, 1-6 3P, 3-5 FT), 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 1 block in 24 minutes against the Lakers. Two things stand out and they point opposite directions: he took six threes a game after taking barely one at UNC, and he shot 6-for-20 on them while going 3-for-11 from the line across the three games with published splits.

Update 2026-07-19: HoopsRumors' Vegas wrap puts the final aggregate at 23.5 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks in 27.7 minutes across the four games, with 41.9% from three on 7.8 attempts per game — the debut's hot shooting carried the full-event percentage — while flagging the same two weaknesses this dossier already carries: 33.3% from the line and turnovers. HoopsRumors Bulls Notes, 2026-07-19

Fantasy history: none. No NBA season has been played, so there is no category or points finish to cite. Public 2026-27 opinion is bullish but is opinion, not history — Athlon's Amoye Favour projected roughly 13.5/8.0/1.5 with 1.8 stocks at a seventh-to-eighth-round price on 2026-06-29, and Yahoo's Dan Titus ranked him first for fantasy among the top four 2026 picks on 2026-07-14. Neither is a settled consensus.

Durability: North Carolina 2025-26: 24 of a possible ~34 games. He fractured his left hand on 2026-02-10 in a loss to Miami, which was initially expected to end his season; then surgery on 2026-03-06 revealed a broken right thumb suffered dunking in practice, and he did not return, missing the ACC and NCAA tournaments. Two separate hand fractures in one season is the flag, though neither is a load-bearing or soft-tissue injury and both are the kind that heal cleanly. He cleared the predraft process and played four Summer League games including a back-to-back, which is present-tense evidence of full clearance. Sitting Chicago's last Summer League game was management, not injury.

Trajectory: The college season is a small but very loud sample: 19.8 and 9.4 on .578 shooting with 2.9 stocks in 31 minutes is star-level freshman production, and the ACC voters treated it that way. The profile is unusually lopsided, though. Everything he did well at UNC came inside the arc and off athleticism — the .578 FG is a rim-and-short-roll number, not a shooting number, and .259 from three on about one attempt a game plus .713 from the line are the two categories that will sink a category-league line before his rebounds and blocks lift it. Summer League showed the Bulls are actively rebuilding the shot diet toward volume threes rather than waiting, which is the right long-run call and the wrong short-run one for redraft efficiency. He is a 2025-class recruit entering his age-19/20 NBA season into a Chicago frontcourt with no entrenched incumbent, so the minutes are real from day one; the honest read for 2026-27 is a rebounds-and-stocks contributor whose FG%, FT% and turnovers make him a punt-build target rather than a balanced-roster one, with the dynasty case resting on a jumper that has not yet appeared in a game that counts.
