A tier is a group of players close enough in projected value that which one you get barely matters. Tiers, not ranks, are what you draft from: the question at your pick is never who is ranked highest but which tier is about to run out. When a tier has one player left and the next tier is a real drop, that is when you reach.
A new tier starts wherever the drop to the next player is unusually large compared with the drops around it. Tiers are kept between 3 and 14 players. Nobody hand-placed a line.
How to read an entry
`Jahmyr Gibbs — three-down bell cow (RB1, bye 6)` The label after the name is the **archetype** — what he actually does on the field, from the closed set in Player archetypes. That is the part that carries information; the name is just the handle. `RB1` means first among running backs **in this file**, not a claim that he is a top-twelve back league-wide — Reading an NFL depth chart explains why those two meanings of `RB1` get confused. `bye 6` is the week his team does not play, when he scores zero. **VOR** is value over replacement: projected points minus what the same position gives you for free.
