Current 10-team snapshot

The promoted Data/players.csv row lists CHI TE, bye 10, ADP 58.8 (ffcalc-ppr-10tm-2026-08-02), 193.8 projected points over 17 games, a TE competition qualified archetype, and med model risk (73 catches, 848 yards projected). It supersedes prior move-TE/low-risk presentation. The canonical ledger accepts he is active but assigns only medium-high role and health confidence because Cole Kmet and Roush are target competition. Competition lowers role certainty; it is not itself a points cut.

The role

The candidate model assigns the move-TE job: effectively a large slot receiver who happens to count at a position where every team must start one. Current reporting verifies activity but not an exclusive target role. The other label at tight end is blocking TE: on the field constantly, almost never a target (a throw in his direction, counted whether or not he catches it — see Fantasy football glossary). That supply problem, not a pre-declared target split, is what the position asks you to price.

The number

73 catches. From the gated candidate feed dated 2026-08-02—a model projection, not an observation. In this league's full PPR every reception is worth a full point before a yard is gained, so 73 catches is 73 points, a little over four a game. Current target competition makes that an outcome to monitor, not a settled allocation.

The risk

The promoted CSV lists his risk as med and qualifies the role for TE competition. The real exposure is a projection of one team's throws divided among Loveland, Kmet, Roush, and the wider receiving room; that split is a coaching decision nobody has made yet. It is not settled until the August 30 roster cutdown.

The context

He is 22 on the September 9 opener, and Chicago drafted him tenth overall in 2025 — top-ten capital, which usually means the team hands a player the job rather than making him win it (Draft capital dominance). He has exactly one NFL season behind him; 2023 and 2024 he spent at Michigan, so there is no three-year record to read. In 2025 he played 16 of 17 games, was never listed Out on the official weekly injury report, and appeared on it twice as Questionable with a hip. He took 65.4% of Chicago's snaps and drew 82 targets — 15.4% of the team's throws — for 58 catches and 713 yards. The projected 73 catches is a raise on that, not a repeat. He is on a fully guaranteed rookie contract and is not a free agent until 2029.
