August 2 10-team update
10-team ADP: 52.3; projection: 201.9 points; model risk: low. (FFCalculator PPR 10-team ADP and FFToday projection snapshot, 2026-08-02/2026-07-30.) Chicago's target hierarchy remains a camp question; keep the projected big-slot role provisional. No player-specific health exception is in the status ledger. This block supersedes earlier numeric, risk, and turn language.
The role
He lines up inside, close to the formation, and catches short throws. That is the big slot: more targets (throws in his direction, counted whether or not he catches them — see Fantasy football glossary) at fewer yards each than an alpha X or a field-stretching Z. In a league that pays a full point per reception, the trade is close to neutral — ten catches for 80 yards pays the same 18 points as four catches for 140 — and the short-throw version is the steadier of the two week to week.
The number
201.9 projected points, including 70 catches for 926 yards. These are current Data/players.csv inputs from the FFToday snapshot dated 2026-07-30, not observed production. In full PPR, the 70 receptions provide 70 points before yardage and touchdowns; whether that volume arrives depends on the unresolved Chicago target allocation.
The risk
The CSV lists his risk as low. That flag does not establish a target hierarchy: Chicago's pass-catching roles remain a camp question, and one offense's throws must be divided among its options. Treat the catch projection as a range until the hierarchy is clearer.
The context
He is 22 on the September 9 opener, and Chicago spent the 39th pick of the 2025 draft on him — second-round capital, enough that the team has a reason to keep feeding him (Draft capital dominance). He has one NFL season; 2023 and 2024 he was at Missouri, so there is no three-year record to read. He played 15 of 17 games in 2025, and both absences are on the official injury report as weeks listed Out, naming a concussion and an ankle. The observed usage is well short of the projection: he was on the field for only 41.8% of Chicago's snaps and drew 60 targets, 11.3% of the team's throws, for 47 catches. The projected 70 catches asks for roughly half as much again. He is on a fully guaranteed rookie deal, free agent in 2029.

Open questions
- Is his projected catch count assuming a full-time slot role, or an average over two plausible depth charts?
- Does taking him alongside another Chicago pass catcher concentrate too much of a roster in one offense and one week-10 bye?
