Live 10-team decision status — 2026-08-02
10-team decision data: ADP 76.8, projection 187.1 points, risk low. Cleveland’s first-team QB work is split between Watson and Sanders; the 17-game receiving model lacks a settled QB environment.
Source: promoted Data/players.csv and Data/current-status.csv. This section supersedes every older July ADP, projection-source date, risk flag, pick-band/turn, and current-role assertion below. Older explanatory prose remains only as context.
Reading rule: material below this block is historical/model context unless it repeats the promoted values and 10-team baseline above; it is not live draft instruction.
The role
Fannin is a move TE in Cleveland — a tight end split out and used as a receiver rather than kept in to block. That distinction is the entire tight-end story: most starting tight ends in the NFL are blocking TEs who are on the field constantly and never have the ball thrown to them, and they score nothing all year. Fannin does a slot receiver's job while counting at a position where TE10 is the 10-team replacement reference, so the role matters only if it creates a decisive edge over that baseline.
The number
77 catches projected, from the note column of Data/players.csv — a projection dated 2026-07-23, not an observation. In full PPR that is 77 points before a single yard, about 4.5 a game. The archetype signal for a move TE is roughly 45 catches; this is well past it, and it is receiver-grade volume that must be compared with the 10-team TE10 baseline.
The risk
The CSV rates his risk as low, so the honest framing is that the risk here is not a specific rival but the projection itself: this is a modelled stat line, and tight end is the position where role, not talent, decides everything. A coaching decision to use him more as a blocker at the August 30 roster cutdown would erase most of the case without anyone getting hurt.
The context
He is 22.1 on the September 9 opener and Cleveland took him 67th in 2025 — third-round capital, which Draft capital dominance treats as a real but not decisive claim on a job. He has only one NFL season to read: the 2023 and 2024 fields are blank because he was still at Bowling Green, so there is no multi-year availability record here, only 16 games out of 17 in 2025, one week listed Out, and a groin twice and a hamstring once on the official injury report. The usage is the point. He was on the field for 76 percent of snaps and drew 107 targets for 72 catches, a 20.5 percent target share — receiver volume, observed rather than modelled, and the 77-catch projection barely exceeds it. He is on a rookie deal through 2029.
Earlier candidate note — superseded
CLE TE — ADP 76.8; 187.1 points; low-risk move-TE model. Watson and Sanders split first-team QB work; the receiving forecast lacks a settled QB environment.

Open questions
- Does the catch projection hold if Cleveland's passing game is bad overall, or does volume simply follow a losing game script?
- At promoted 10-team ADP 76.8, compare the uncertain Cleveland receiving environment with the current TE10 baseline rather than an older positional-rank or weekly-edge example.
