August 2 10-team update
10-team ADP: 75.1; projection: 166.4 points; model risk: high. The risk flag is a role-split warning, not a confirmed injury outcome. No player-specific status exception appears; validate Pittsburgh's early-down/goal-line split. This block supersedes earlier numeric, risk, and turn language.
The role
He is an early-down committee back: he runs on first and second down and comes off the field when the offense throws. A carry is a handoff (Fantasy football glossary), and carries are handed out by a coach, not earned play by play — which is why this archetype's value is a guess about a depth chart rather than a judgement about a player. Pittsburgh has a second back doing the same job, and the file projects that teammate ahead of him on both carries and catches. See Jaylen Warren.
The number
186 carries projected — from the frozen August 2 Data/players.csv note (early-down committee back; 186 carries + 30 catches projected). It is a model outcome, not a current depth-chart result. The value case depends on that early-down share holding.
The risk
The CSV flags his risk as high, and the driver is the committee itself. Two backs on one roster projected for nearly identical carry counts is the least stable arrangement in fantasy football, because the split is a coaching decision that will not be legible until the August 30 roster cutdown — and one back losing that argument loses most of his value in a single week. Read that flag narrowly, though: it is about the split, not about the man, who has missed two games in three seasons and took fifty more carries in 2025 than the file projects for him now.
The context
Historical context: undrafted in 2020, he played 16, 16 and 17 games from 2023–25. In 2025 he played 54.9% of snaps with 236 carries and 39 catches. That record explains why the model can support 186 carries, but it does not resolve Pittsburgh's current committee or goal-line split.
Open questions
- His current 10-team ADP is 75.1 (FFCalculator PPR, 2026-08-02). The market still appears to be pricing a coin flip at both ends — is one of the two mispriced?
- Nothing in the CSV distinguishes which back gets goal-line work, and touchdowns are six points against 0.1 a yard. See Touchdown variance.
