August 2 10-team update

10-team ADP: 71.4; projection: 193.7 points; model risk: low. No August 2 player-specific exception appears in the status ledger. Role claims still need camp-depth-chart validation. This block supersedes earlier numeric, risk, and turn language.

The role

Pittman is a big slot in Pittsburgh: he lines up inside the formation and works the short, high-frequency throws rather than the deep ones. In full PPR the job pays well because every reception is a point regardless of how far it travelled. He is not the offense's deep threat — that is a field-stretching Z on the same roster — and the quarterback throwing to him is a pocket QB, one who scores only through the air, which means the passing volume is there but the offense's rushing touchdowns are not his to share.

The number

The promoted row projects 193.7 points, 76 catches, and 877 yards. Those catches are 76 PPR points before yardage, but the line remains a forecast rather than observed production.

The risk

The CSV rates his risk as low. The honest version is that the risk is not collapse but ordinariness: a receiver whose case is short-catch volume rarely wins a week outright, and this league's payout — first place worth more than second and third combined — pays for weeks you win. He is a fine round-six answer and a poor one if the roster already lacks ceiling.

The context

He is 28.9 on the September 9 opener and went 34th overall in 2020 out of USC, drafted by Indianapolis; the 2026 roster has him in Pittsburgh. Availability is solid rather than spotless — 16, 16 and 17 games in 2023, 2024 and 2025, two missed, one of which never appeared on the injury report and so was not medical. He was listed Out once and Questionable or Doubtful five times, against a back four times plus a shoulder and a concussion. The 2025 usage is the strongest observed case of the six: 85.5 percent of snaps, 111 targets, 80 catches, a 20.9 percent target share. The projection asks for 76 catches, slightly fewer than he actually caught. He is paid $17.5 million a year through free agency in 2029.
