Live 10-team decision status — 2026-08-02
10-team decision data: ADP 24.6, projection 244.2 points, risk low. No promoted current-status record changes role or health; retain workload as a model pending fresh team evidence.
Source: promoted Data/players.csv and Data/current-status.csv. This section supersedes every older July ADP, projection-source date, risk flag, pick-band/turn, and current-role assertion below. Older explanatory prose remains only as context.
Reading rule: material below this block is historical/model context unless it repeats the promoted values and 10-team baseline above; it is not live draft instruction.
The role
He is a three-down bell cow: on the field on every down, including passing downs, so he collects both the carries (running plays handed to him) and the catches. Two income streams on one roster spot is the most valuable single thing in this format, and there are only about eight such backs in the league. His projected line leans hard toward the carries rather than the receptions, which makes him the bell cow with the most ordinary passing-down role of the group.
The number
282 carries, from the reviewed 2026-08-02 candidate feed (the stat line behind 244.2 projected points). This is a model projection, not an observation. Carries are allocated by a coach, not earned play by play, so a number that size is really a statement about a job.
The risk
The CSV flags him low risk. The honest caveat is structural rather than personal: this is a projected role, and depth charts are not settled until the August 30 roster cutdown, so any committee teammate emerging in camp takes carries directly out of the number above. Green Bay's bye is week 11, the crunch week when six teams are off — see Bye-week planning. The availability data does not argue against him — he has played 45 of a possible 51 games since 2023 — but his 2025 snap share does: he was on the field for under 60 percent of Green Bay's plays, so the projection assumes a larger share of the job than he actually held.
The context
He is 28 on the September 9 opener, drafted 24th overall by the Raiders in 2019 — first-round capital, which is usually a team telling you whose job it is (Draft capital dominance). He has been close to available: 13, 17 and 15 games, 45 of a possible 51. The report listed him Out one week and Questionable or Doubtful eight more (quadricep four times, knee three, ankle once), and five of the six missed games never appeared on it, so those were not medical. In 2025 he ran 234 carries and caught 36 of 44 targets, which matches the projection almost exactly. His snap share does not: 59.3 percent of Green Bay's plays is a back who leaves the field. He is paid $12 million a year and hits free agency in 2028.
Earlier candidate note — superseded
GB RB — ADP 24.6; 244.2 points; low-risk bell-cow model. No accepted gated status record changes role or health.
Provenance: Data/research/candidates/2026-08-02/players.candidate.csv and Data/current-status.csv. Current-status evidence is narrower than the candidate model.
Open questions
- His ADP is 24.6 in the reviewed Fantasy Football Calculator PPR 10-team candidate feed, a proxy rather than ESPN's own. Do not force him at 20/21; compare the live tier edge against the receiver and tight-end alternatives before the 40/41 turn.
- The projection gives him few catches for a bell cow. If that holds, he is closer to an early-down committee back in a full-PPR league than the label suggests.
