Justin Edwards

Justin Edwards is Philadelphia's first reserve wing, but Jaylen Brown's arrival turns a useful real-life role into a low-ceiling fantasy profile unless injuries restore 25-plus minutes.

Research cutoff: July 18, 2026. Team: Philadelphia 76ers. Role: reserve 3/4 and defensive wing.

2026-27 projection

62 14.0 .450 (1.9/4.2) .830 (0.4/0.5) 0.9 5.1 1.6 1.2 0.7 0.2 0.5

Edwards played 64 games at 15.3 minutes in 2025-26, producing 6.0 points, 1.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.2 blocks on .447 FG, .372 from three, and .846 FT. That is a good low-turnover reserve line but too little volume for standard leagues. Sixers game notes, May 2026

Health and uncertainty

Edwards carried no public July restriction. The risk is opportunity rather than health. RealGM's automated chart still lists him as a starter, but the official Brown acquisition and independent fantasy analysis make a reserve role much more likely. Career record

Pre-NBA: Kentucky 2023-24 (one-and-done): 8.8 PTS, 3.4 REB in 32 games (30 starts) — a consensus five-star who at one point ranked No. 1 in the ESPN 2023 class, and whose freshman year underdelivered on that billing. Draft: undrafted (2024); two-way with Philadelphia 2024-07-04, converted to standard 2025-02-09, re-signed 2025-06-27 for three years, $7.1M.

Durability: No significant injuries on record. The 44-game 2024-25 was contract-driven (two-way until February), and 2025-26's 64 games came with a healthy roster shrinking his minutes, not medical absence.

Trajectory: The rookie-year 26-minute audition (10.1 PTS, 1.6 3PM, 1.0 STL on a tanking roster) is the more informative sample; 2025-26 showed the same per-minute 3-and-D profile compressed into a 15-minute reserve role on a contender. In 2026-27 he is the first wing replacement behind Jaylen Brown and Dean Wade. He becomes fantasy-relevant only through injury above him: a Brown or Wade absence restoring 25-plus minutes brings back the top-150-to-190 stretches his rookie year already demonstrated.
