Healthy active-game allocation: 0 minutes base; the card above is a conditional line for the nights he actually plays. Confidence: medium on depth status; low on appearance frequency.
Correction 2026-07-18: restructured from a 1-minute nightly base to a zero base with a conditional 8-minute line. A nightly single minute across 40 games is not a stat shape any NBA player produces; a fringe wing records either real minutes or a DNP. Sports Illustrated lists Cain among the honourable mentions outside the top ten rotation. The freed minute went into the bench rebalance described on Orlando Magic. 2025-26 baseline
Orlando's current player page lists Cain at 5.4 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 0.7 assists in 2025-26. The Magic exercised his option on June 29, preserving him as a depth wing.
The projection does not scale the prior line mechanically because Wagner is assumed to play more than 34 games, da Silva is the established reserve, and Penda/Isaac compete for the same broad forward minutes.
Role and pathway
Cain is a depth scorer and athlete at the wing spots. One healthy-game minute represents the bottom of the standard-roster order: he can be inactive or play garbage time on ordinary nights, then jump into the teens when multiple wings are absent.
His roster security is stronger than a two-way player's; his fantasy pathway is not. A spot start would make him a cheap daily-fantasy punt before it made him a standard season-long hold.
Category shape
- Potential help with volume: points, rebounds, some threes.
- Limited evidence: assists and defensive events at a standard-league level.
- Base problem: no reliable volume.

Career record
Pre-NBA: Born March 20, 1999. Four seasons at Marquette (2017-21), finishing with a senior line of 9.6 points and 6.3 rebounds, then a graduate-transfer year at Oakland in 2021-22 that produced 19.9 points, 10.2 rebounds and 1.8 steals on .499 FG and .841 FT — Horizon League Co-Player of the Year and first-team all-conference. Draft: undrafted (2022). Signed with Miami in July 2022 and converted to a two-way in October 2022, becoming the first player in Heat/Sioux Falls history to spend full consecutive seasons on a two-way. His G League production was substantially larger than his NBA role: one Skyforce stretch of 15 appearances at 23.5 points on .521 FG, 10.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 2.2 steals and 1.1 blocks in 39.1 minutes, including a 39-point, 13-rebound game and a 22/11/10 triple-double with five steals.

Durability: No meaningful injury record. The low game totals are roster and rotation status — two-way assignment limits in Miami, then end-of-bench standing in New Orleans and Orlando — not availability. Appearances have risen every year (18, 26, 37, 40).
Trajectory: Four NBA seasons of the same thing: roughly 12 minutes, five points, two rebounds, on nights the rotation has room. The 2025-26 Orlando line is his best shooting year (.487 FG, .384 from three, .848 FT), which is what earned the option exercise in June 2026 and a standard contract rather than another two-way. That is the ceiling of the archetype — a wing who is competent enough to keep on the roster and not distinctive enough to move up it. Orlando has Franz Wagner, Tristan da Silva, Noah Penda, and Jonathan Isaac ahead of him for forward minutes. He becomes streamable only in a genuine wing shortage — two of those four out simultaneously — and even then the profile is points and threes without the defensive events that make deep-league wings worth holding.
