Role and evidence
Bouyea began 2025-26 on a Phoenix two-way and was converted to a standard contract on March 2; the current roster carries him as a standard player. Sources: RealGM transaction history, accessed 2026-07-18, RealGM current roster, accessed 2026-07-18. Confidence: high.
Before the NBA promotion, the Suns' G League announcement cited 20.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 2.0 steals through four Austin games. He later posted 27 points, five rebounds, nine assists, a steal, and two blocks in 39.7 minutes in the April 12 short-handed finale. Sources: NBA G League signing release, 2025-11-18, official NBA gamebook, 2026-04-12. Confidence: high on samples, low on translation to a normal role.
The standard contract does not make Bouyea the first bench guard. Collin Gillespie has a new four-year deal, Jordan Goodwin has a three-year deal, and Pat Spencer occupies an additional two-way point-guard slot. Bouyea is most likely used when Devin Booker or Jalen Green is unavailable.
Category shape
- Wins: Assists and steals when he receives lead-guard minutes.
- Neutral: Threes and rebounds can scale with opportunity.
- Costs: FG% and turnovers against NBA pressure; no stable volume.
- Build fit: Deep points leagues and assists streaming during injury clusters.
Points and dynasty outlook
Bouyea's G League stat shape is more points-friendly than his low-minute NBA projection. His standard contract modestly improves security, but at age 27 and fourth on the guard depth chart, dynasty ceiling is limited.
Floor, base, ceiling
- Floor: Mostly inactive or garbage-time appearances.
- Base: 24 games at eight minutes, substituting for absent guards.
- Ceiling: A multi-week starting injury opens 22 minutes and produces six assists with one steal; temporary deep-league value.
Draft verdict
Bouyea is a contingency name, not a draft name. His April finale proves he can fill a box score when entrusted with the offense; it does not establish that Phoenix plans to entrust him with it.
Career record
Pre-NBA: San Francisco, five seasons (2017-22), finishing at 17.3 PTS / 5.0 REB / 4.0 AST with back-to-back first-team All-WCC selections (2021, 2022) and a 2022 NCAA tournament berth. Draft: undrafted (2022). G League résumé since: All-NBA G League Second Team and All-Rookie Team with Sioux Falls in 2022-23, then Austin and the Valley Suns.

Durability: No injury pattern — the sparse early GP totals reflect 10-day and two-way churn across five organizations, not health.
Trajectory: The record is a four-year fringe cycle finally breaking: three seasons of scattered 10-day appearances, then a real 46-game Phoenix sample in 2025-26 with a March conversion to a two-year standard deal and a 27-9-5 short-handed finale. His G League honors say the creation is real; his 68.6% FT and modest NBA efficiency say the translation is unproven. In 2026-27 he competes for the emergency-guard job behind Booker, Green, Gillespie and Goodwin. He becomes fantasy-relevant only during a multi-week starting-guard injury that hands him roughly 20-plus minutes, when assists plus steals make him a deep-league stream.
