Ryan Rollins

Ryan Rollins is Milwaukee's best assists-and-steals fantasy bet, with a top-75 path if his efficient 2025-26 breakout survives a much more crowded guard rotation.

Team: Milwaukee Bucks · Position: PG/SG · Age entering season: 24 · Experience: 4 seasons

Correction 2026-07-18: minutes and per-game line restated to match the rebuilt Milwaukee minute model. The prior team table spread 240 minutes across sixteen players, giving the top six only 146 and projecting every returning Buck below his own 2025-26 workload despite Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis vacating 53 minutes a night. This row moves from 27 to 32 MPG as part of that rebuild. Source: ESPN 2025-26 Milwaukee team stats.

Fantasy case

Rollins averaged 17.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 1.5 steals, and 2.5 threes across 74 games in 2025-26 while shooting .472. That is an unusually complete guard baseline. Giannis's departure removes the offense's central hub, preserving Rollins's creation need even after Milwaukee added Tyler Herro, Jaime Jaquez Jr, and Kasparas Jakučionis.

The primary question is not talent but possession allocation. Herro is the first scorer, Jakučionis needs developmental on-ball reps, and a healthy Kevin Porter Jr also creates. Rollins nevertheless has the strongest two-way case for opening and closing minutes because his steals separate him from the other handlers.

Low Guard logjam persists and shooting regresses 23-25 MPG, 4.5 AST, outside top 125
Base Starting/closing guard beside Herro 27 MPG, 5.4 AST, 1.4 STL
High Porter moved/limited and Rollins controls the offense 30+ MPG, 18/6/1.6 with top-60 value

Learning notes

Rollins's 2025-26 steals and efficiency give him more ways to hold value than a typical young-volume guard. The correct discount is for crowded touches, not for a presumed loss of the starting job.

Career record

Pre-NBA: Toledo, two seasons. Freshman 2020-21: 13.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists in 30 starts on .431/.323/.786, MAC Freshman of the Year. Sophomore 2021-22: 18.9 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.6 assists in 34 starts on .468/.311/.802, first-team All-MAC, the fourth Rocket to reach 1,000 points in his first two seasons. The three-point rate never came in college — .323 and .311 — which is the single most important fact about how far he has travelled since. Draft: 2022, second round, 44th pick, Atlanta Hawks, traded on draft night to Golden State for the draft rights to Tyrese Martin (51st) and cash. G-League assignments followed each of his first three years: Santa Cruz Warriors in 2022-23, Capital City Go-Go in 2023-24, Wisconsin Herd in 2024-25.

The 2023-24 split was 10 games in Washington (4.1 points in 6.6 minutes) and 3 in Milwaukee after he signed there. The 2022-23 and 2023-24 rows are garbage-time samples and should not be read as evidence of anything.

Durability: 12, 13, 56, 74. The first two seasons are low because of two-way status and G-League assignment rather than health. In 2024-25 he was in and out of the rotation on a full contract. In 2025-26 he missed eight games, the visible cause being a right hip strain that recurred intermittently in the closing weeks. There is no significant injury history here, but there is also no history of carrying a 32-minute load for more than one season, which is its own risk.

Fantasy history: 2022-23 through 2024-25 he was unrosterable in standard formats. 2025-26 is the only season with a real fantasy footprint, and season-end 9-category ranks are not published free, so a specific number is not verified. What the raw line supports: 17.3 points, 2.5 threes, 5.6 assists and 1.5 steals on .472/.796 is a four-category contributor with no negative except turnovers, and lines of that shape typically land in the top-40 to top-60 band — treat that as inference from the components, not a cited rank. The points-league shape is very similar; the 2.7 turnovers hurt slightly more in points formats that deduct for them, but the assists and steals carry more weight there than they do in categories.

Trajectory: This is a one-season breakout with a clear proximate cause. Kevin Porter Jr. was hurt nine minutes into the opener, Rollins inherited the on-ball job, and his minutes went from 14.6 to 32.1 in a single step. The important question is how much of the production is the minutes and how much is real, and the per-minute evidence says real: his scoring roughly doubled per minute (6.2 in 14.6 to 17.3 in 32.1), his assist rate nearly doubled, and his three-point volume went from 0.9 to 2.5 makes while his efficiency barely moved. That is a shot-diet and confidence change, not just playing time. The counterweight is his college profile — a .323 and .311 three-point shooter at Toledo who has now shot the ball well in exactly one large NBA sample. At 24, with Herro, Jakučionis and a healthy Porter competing for the same possessions, the 2026-27 risk is not that he regresses as a player but that the per-game totals compress. The projection card's 27 minutes rather than 32 is the right expression of that.
