Correction 2026-07-18: minutes and per-game line restated to match the rebuilt Milwaukee minute model. The prior team table spread 240 minutes across sixteen players, giving the top six only 146 and projecting every returning Buck below his own 2025-26 workload despite Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis vacating 53 minutes a night. This row moves from 4 to 8 conditional MPG as part of that rebuild. Source: ESPN 2025-26 Milwaukee team stats.

Fantasy case

Sims averaged 5.0 points and 5.5 rebounds in 19.7 minutes across 67 games in 2025-26, shooting .784 from the field. That elite finishing is low-volume and comes with a damaging .620 FT rate. Myles Turner and Kel'el Ware consume nearly all healthy center minutes, while Pete Nance and Bogoljub Marković add roster pressure.

Low/base: DNPs and four-minute cameos. High: one of Turner/Ware misses time and Sims plays 18-22 minutes, becoming a rebounds/FG% stream. Blocks have not been strong enough to assume a broad fantasy breakout.

Confidence

Roster medium-low · Minutes low · Rates high for FG%, medium otherwise · Availability high.

Learning notes

Sims is a schedule-day tool, not a season-long roster piece. Add him only when the injury report creates real center minutes and the opponent supports rebounding volume.

Career record

Pre-NBA: Texas, four seasons (2017-21): grew from a 5.0 PPG reserve into a 9.7 PTS / 8.2 REB / 1.2 BLK starter as a junior (season shortened by a back stress fracture), then 9.2 / 7.2 / 1.1 as a senior. Draft: 2021, Round 2, Pick 58, New York Knicks.

Durability: Never above 67 games in five seasons, but mostly from role volatility rather than fragility; the one significant injury was thumb-ligament surgery that ended his 2024-25 in March. A college back stress fracture has not recurred professionally.

Trajectory: Five seasons of the same player at different volumes: a lob-and-rebound center who converts at .70+ and offers nothing outside the restricted area — no threes, minimal blocks, sub-.65 FT. 2025-26 was his best and busiest year (career highs in GP, minutes, points, rebounds) yet still produced no standalone fantasy value. In 2026-27 he competes for Milwaukee's third-center role behind Myles Turner and Kel'el Ware. He becomes fantasy-relevant only as a short-term FG%/rebounds stream when one of those two misses time and he starts — the 2025-26 rate stats say that stream works, and the block rate says it never becomes more than a stream.
