Justin Champagnie

Justin Champagnie is productive wing depth holding a small base rotation role, whose rebounds, efficiency and low-end stocks become genuinely streamable when Washington's crowded forward rotation opens further.

Information cutoff: 2026-07-18. The base line below is included in Washington's exact 240-minute rotation; the conditional line is not additive to it.

Role, baseline, and projection

Base GP Base MPG 3PM PTS REB AST STL BLK FG% FT% TO

Conditional MPG 3PM PTS REB AST STL BLK FG% FT% TO

Correction 2026-07-18: moved from a zero-minute baseline into the base rotation at 10 minutes. SI's post-draft rotation projection names him explicitly among the bench regulars expected to receive significant minutes, and FanSided's rotation piece lists him as well; the prior zero rested on a roster-crowding judgment with no source behind it and contradicted the same class of projection used elsewhere for Washington's starting five. His minutes come from Middleton (12 to 8), Riley (10 to 8) and Ayton (20 to 16).

Career record

Pre-NBA: Two seasons at Pittsburgh — a 12.7-point freshman year, then a 2020-21 sophomore season of 18.0 PPG and 11.1 RPG, the only major-conference double-double average in the country; All-ACC First Team and AP All-America Honorable Mention. Draft: undrafted (2021); signed a two-way with Toronto in August 2021.

Durability: The gaps in the record are contractual, not physical — waived by Toronto in February 2023 with only 10-day Boston stints after, then a G League road back before Washington signed him late in 2023-24. Since earning the standard deal he has been steady: 62 and 69 games the last two seasons. Trajectory: A classic undrafted-rebounder survival arc: elite college board work, two years on the roster margins, then two consistent Washington seasons at essentially the same line — roughly 9 points, 5.6 boards, a steal and half a block on .50+ shooting in 20 minutes. The per-minute rebounding and stocks are real and repeatable; the assists and three-point volume are not growing. In 2026-27 he competes for the 10-minute reserve-four role against Riley and Middleton with a January 10 non-guarantee hanging over it. He becomes fantasy-relevant when a Washington wing or four goes down and he returns to 20+ minutes, where he is an immediate deep-league rebounds/FG%/stocks stream — the 2024-25 season is the proof of concept.
