Isaiah Collier

Isaiah Collier is already an elite per-minute passer, but Utah's George-Peterson backcourt turns him into an assists specialist unless injury opens a larger role.

Fantasy thesis

Collier's assists can matter even in fewer than 20 minutes, but he hurts threes and free throws and no longer has a clear path to closing work. Hashtag ranks him 190th in analyst dynasty. A post-draft dynasty discussion identified him as a major loser from Peterson's selection because on-ball usage is the scarce resource. Ceiling: a George or Peterson absence gives Collier 27 minutes and top-100 assists/steals utility. Floor: 14 minutes without closing work makes him a specialist for deep leagues only.

Career record

Pre-NBA: Born October 8, 2004; 6-4, 210. Elite high school résumé at Wheeler (Marietta, Georgia) — 19.6 points, 6.8 assists, 5.5 rebounds and 2.2 steals as a senior, Naismith Prep Player of the Year, Mr. Georgia Basketball, and McDonald's All-American Co-MVP in 2023. One season at USC (Pac-12) in 2023-24: 27 games, 30.0 minutes, 16.3 points, 2.9 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.5 steals on .490 from the field, .338 from three and .673 from the line. Draft: 2024, first round, 29th pick, Utah Jazz — a substantial slide for a player who entered college as a consensus top-three recruit.

Western Conference Rookie of the Month in February 2025. On February 3, 2026 he posted 22 assists against Indiana, the most by a Jazz player since John Stockton in 1992.

Durability: 71 games as a rookie, then 59 in 2025-26. He was not ready for the start of last season, cleared at the end of October 2025 and ramping up with the Salt Lake City Stars, and a left hamstring strain recurred across the year, including the final eleven games of the regular season. Two separate stretches lost to the same soft-tissue problem is the flag to carry into 2026-27.

Trajectory: Two seasons establish him as a genuine NBA passer — 6.3 then 7.2 assists in under 26 minutes, a rate that puts him among the best per-minute distributors in the league at 21 — with real second-year efficiency gains: field goal percentage from .422 to .495, free throws from .682 to .722, turnovers down from 2.9 to 2.5 despite higher usage. What has not moved is the shot: .249 then .270 from three on half a make per game, which is the reason he cannot be played off the ball and the reason Utah's George-Peterson backcourt squeezes him out of the closing lineup rather than around it. He enters 2026-27 as the backup point guard whose assists and steals are startable in deep formats even at 18 minutes, but whose threes and free throws actively cost you. He returns to top-100 territory only if George or Peterson misses extended time and he holds 27-plus minutes, or if the three-point shot finally clears the low 30s and makes him playable next to another guard.
