Immanuel Quickley

Immanuel Quickley is a discounted assists-and-threes guard whose value turns on complete recovery from right-foot plantar fasciitis and an aggravated right hamstring strain.

Cutoff/status: 2026-07-18; verified standard-contract starting point guard. Official NBA profile, accessed 2026-07-18 · Toronto Raptors

Baseline and projection

Quickley averaged 16.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, a career-high 5.9 assists, 1.3 steals, 2.5 threes and 1.5 turnovers in 31.9 minutes over 70 games, shooting .443/.821. Plantar fasciitis preceded a hamstring strain in the regular-season finale; he aggravated the hamstring during rehab and missed the remainder of round one. No later public full-clearance report was found by the cutoff. NBA/AP injury report, 2026-04-25 · Basketball-Reference, accessed 2026-07-18

Correction 2026-07-19: base GP lowered from 68 to 63. The 68 figure reproduced his 2025-26 healthy-season total while his last three seasons average 57 (68, 33, 70), and it carried no discount for the two live availability problems this dossier itself documents: right-foot plantar fasciitis that was already chronic before it forced the March absence — a condition that recurs and degrades explosion rather than resolving cleanly — and a right-hamstring strain aggravated during rehab in late April with no public clearance located as of 2026-07-19. Projecting his best healthy total while both flags are open was an over-projection; 63 keeps the healthy 70-game rate as the ceiling and the dossier's own 55-60 floor branch in view. Fantasy value

The unresolved trade is mostly neutral: Brandon Ingram and Leonard both absorb usage, while Leonard would improve spacing and late-clock efficiency. Quickley's biggest 2026-27 swing is health, not hierarchy.

Career record

Pre-NBA: Kentucky, two seasons. As a freshman in 2018-19 he was a low-usage reserve: 37 games, 18.5 minutes, 5.2 points, 1.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists on .372 FG, .345 from three, .828 FT. As a sophomore in 2019-20 he became the team's best player: 30 games, 33.0 minutes, 16.1 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists on .417 FG, .428 from three and .923 from the line, winning SEC Player of the Year (coaches) and first-team All-SEC. The sophomore shooting profile — high-volume three-point accuracy plus a near-elite free-throw stroke — is what he has actually been in the NBA. Draft: 2020, first round, 25th overall, Oklahoma City — traded to New York on draft night as part of the package built around the 23rd pick. He was dealt to Toronto in December 2023 in the OG Anunoby trade.

The 2023-24 season is split above: 30 games in New York before the December trade, 38 in Toronto after, 68 total. The Toronto half is the more predictive one — the role changed completely, from off-ball combo guard to lead initiator, and the assists nearly tripled.

Fantasy history: 2020-21 and 2021-22: fringe standard-league value, roughly top-110 to top-150, carried by threes and an .880-plus FT%. 2022-23: his first solidly rosterable season, roughly top-80 on a bench role. 2023-24: post-trade per-game value in the top-50 range but split across two roles and 68 games. 2024-25: strong per-game production, near-worthless in totals at 33 games. 2025-26: a full-ish season at 70 games with a career-high 1.3 steals and a sub-1.5 turnover rate on a 5.9-assist load, plausibly a top-60 category finish. No published season-end Basketball Monster or Hashtag ranks were verifiable for any of these years, so treat the bands as estimates. Points leagues rate him slightly worse than categories: 16.4 points on 31.9 minutes is a modest scoring base, and his category edge comes disproportionately from FT% and low turnovers, which points scoring barely credits.

Durability: 64, 78, 81, 68, 33, 70 games. The New York years were healthy; the Toronto years have not been. In 2024-25 he lost roughly 49 games across a right-side pelvic contusion suffered on opening night against Cleveland and then a partial tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his left elbow, sustained against the Lakers, which alone cost 22 games — he was on a minutes restriction through much of what he did play. In 2025-26 he missed eight straight from March 23 to April 5 with right-foot plantar fasciitis that flared in Phoenix on March 22 after weeks of aggravation, then strained his right hamstring in the April 12 regular-season finale against Brooklyn, aggravated it in rehab, and was ruled out for the remainder of the first-round series against Cleveland on April 24. Plantar fasciitis is the concerning item: it recurs, it degrades explosion rather than causing clean absences, and it was already chronic before it forced him out.

Trajectory: The step function was the December 2023 trade, not a skill leap — Toronto handed him the ball and his assists went from 2.5 to 6.8 per game with minutes up nine per night. Everything since has been a question of whether he can hold that role while healthy, and 2025-26 was the first real answer: 70 games at 31.9 minutes with the assist rate intact, FG% recovered to .443, steals at a career-high 1.3 and turnovers down to 1.5. That combination of a rising assist load and a falling turnover rate is the genuine improvement in his profile and the thing that separates him from a pure spot-up guard. The FT% dip to .821 is the one negative and looks like noise against an .852 career mark. He plays 2026-27 at 27, the last flat stretch before guards typically decline, and the ceiling is capped less by age than by usage — Scottie Barnes, Brandon Ingram and Jamal Shead all take possessions, so the realistic upside is the 2025-26 line with a few more assists rather than a new tier.
