Alijah Martin

Alijah Martin is a newly secured end-of-rotation guard whose defensive energy matters more to Toronto than his near-term fantasy line.

Cutoff/status: 2026-07-18; officially re-signed for two years. Knee inflammation kept him out of Summer League, with CBS listing him probable for the season. Raptors announcement · Official NBA profile · CBS injuries, accessed 2026-07-18 · Toronto Raptors

Baseline and projection

Martin played 23 NBA games at 6.3 MPG in 2025-26, averaging 2.2 points, 0.9 rebounds, 0.5 assists, 0.3 steals, 0.2 blocks, 0.2 threes and 0.3 turnovers on .320/.789 shooting. Toronto officially gave him a two-year deal after his two-way rookie season. Basketball-Reference, accessed 2026-07-18 · NBA offseason tracker, updated 2026-07-16

Correction 2026-07-18: raised from 5.0 MPG to 10.0 as part of a team-wide rebalancing of the Toronto minute model, which had left 2,732 season-minutes assigned to nobody. The GP figure is unchanged at 35: the honest shape for a fourth guard is a limited number of appearances at a usable minute load, not 35 appearances at five minutes. Ten minutes is close to the 6.3 MPG he played as a two-way rookie, adjusted for the standard two-year deal he has since signed.

Fantasy value

Martin and Chucky Hepburn both bring guard defense, but Martin's standard contract gives him a clearer NBA bench path. The knee inflammation is expected to resolve by the season rather than alter the long-term forecast. Raptors Republic, 2026-07-10

Career record

Pre-NBA: Five college seasons. FAU 2020-24, a four-year core piece of the 2023 Final Four team (peak 13.9 PTS / 5.3 REB on .400 3P in 2021-22; First-team All-C-USA and C-USA Tournament MVP 2023; Second-team All-AAC 2024). Transferred to Florida 2024-25: 14.4 PTS / 4.5 REB / 2.2 AST / 1.5 STL in 30.4 MPG over 38 games on .452/.350/.761, starting for the 2025 national champions. Draft: 2025, Round 2, Pick 39, Toronto Raptors.

2025-26 24 TOR 23 6.3 2.2 0.9 0.5 0.3 0.2 0.2 .320 .789 0.3
Career 23 6.3 2.2 0.9 0.5 0.3 0.2 0.2 .320 .789 0.3

The rookie year's real evidence is with Raptors 905: 18.5 PTS, 4.6 REB, 3.6 AST, and 1.4 STL in 30.7 MPG across 39 games (38 starts) on .485/.392/.720 — All-NBA G League Third Team, G League All-Defense, and G League All-Rookie.

Durability: Consistently available in college (33-38 games in each full season); the only current flag is the knee inflammation that kept him out of July 2026 Summer League, listed probable for the season.

Trajectory: The record shows a winner at every stop — Final Four, national title, decorated G League rookie season — whose NBA cameos (.320 FG in garbage-time minutes) say far less than the 905 line, where the .392 three-point mark on 227 attempts addressed his biggest question. In 2026-27, now on a two-year standard deal, he competes for the fourth-guard defensive role in Toronto. He becomes fantasy-relevant only if a Walter or Barrett absence hands him about 15+ MPG and the college/G League three-ball survives NBA distance; the steals would then make him a deep-league 9-cat specialist.
