Micah Potter

Micah Potter is a proven stretch big caught in Portland's center surplus; his 2025-26 production matters only if the roster consolidates.

30 8.0 .440 .760 0.8 4.0 2.1 0.6 0.2 0.3 0.4

Correction 2026-07-18: raised from 18 GP / 4.0 MPG to 30 / 8.0 and the counting stats re-derived from his Indiana rate (9.7/5.0 in 19.3 minutes). Part of redistributing the season minutes the team page had left unassigned. The FG% is held at .440 rather than his .515 in Indiana because the shot profile behind Clingan and Williams is worse.

Role and evidence

Portland claimed Potter off waivers July 10. Trail Blazers, 2026-07-10. In Indiana he averaged 9.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists over 47 games while shooting .515 from the field, .423 from three and .842 at the line. Pacers player review, accessed 2026-07-18

That line came in 19.3 minutes and demonstrates real fantasy utility, but Portland already has Donovan Clingan, Robert Williams III, Yang Hansen and newly signed Branden Carlson. Potter's ability to play some power forward is his best path.

Career record

Pre-NBA: Born April 6, 1998. Two low-usage seasons at Ohio State (4.1 points in both), then a transfer to Wisconsin with a redshirt year in 2018-19 and a partial 2019-20 season of 21 games at 10.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.0 blocks on .528/.451/.860. His full senior year in 2020-21 produced 12.5 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.4 assists on .504/.386/.840 in 22.2 minutes. Draft: undrafted (2021). Spent 2021-22 largely with the Sioux Falls Skyforce, averaging 14.1 points and 10.7 rebounds and making the NBA G League All-Rookie Team.

Durability: Nothing structural. The small early game totals are two-way and 10-day status rather than injury, and appearances have risen every season (3, 7, 16, 38, 47). His 2019-20 Wisconsin season was shortened to 21 games by NCAA transfer ineligibility, not health.

Trajectory: Five NBA seasons of steadily earning more, ending in a genuine breakout year at 27: 47 games at 19 minutes with 9.7 points, five rebounds, 1.5 threes and 1.5 assists on .515/.423/.842. That is a usable deep-league line and the first evidence that the stretch-five profile works at NBA volume rather than only in the G League. The problem is entirely situational — Portland claimed him on July 10, 2026 into a frontcourt already holding Donovan Clingan, Robert Williams III, Yang Hansen and Branden Carlson, which is four centers for two spots. His best argument is positional flexibility at power forward and a shooting profile none of the others have. He becomes a top-180 streamer if Portland consolidates the room or Williams misses time again; if the roster stands as constructed he may not survive camp.
