Conditional NBA projection card
| GP | Appearance MPG | FG | FT | 3PM | PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | TO |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 14 | 6.0 | .560 (1.0/1.8) | .680 (0.4/0.6) | 0.1 | 2.5 | 1.9 | 0.5 | 0.1 | 0.4 | 0.4 |
Healthy simultaneous team allocation: 0 minutes. The appearance line describes projected NBA games only if called up and active; it replaces another player's minutes inside Orlando's 240.
Confidence: low on NBA appearances, medium on the rebound/finish archetype.
Established evidence
The NBA's official player bio lists a prior 26-game NBA sample at 16.6 minutes with 4.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.1 assists. His cited G League production reached 16.6 points, 10.2 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.32 blocks, and 1.10 steals in 29.7 minutes on .575 shooting. Orlando converted him to a two-way contract, and he remained on the current 2026-27 roster cross-check.
In July, Castleton recorded 15 points and eight rebounds against Miami, then 14 points and six rebounds against Philadelphia. Those games reinforce readiness against Summer League competition; they do not solve the NBA depth chart.
Role and pathway
Castleton is the developmental call-up center behind Carter, Vucevic, and Bitadze, with Isaac and Nelson also capable of emergency center minutes. His ordinary work should come in the G League. An illness cluster, trade, or planned veteran rest night can create NBA appearances.
If called into a real 15-minute role, rebounds, FG, and blocks are the categories to monitor. He is unlikely to receive enough touches for scoring to lead his fantasy case.
Category shape
- Potential strengths: rebounds, FG percentage, blocks.
- Helpful: some passing for a developmental center.
- Risks: FT percentage, no meaningful threes, fouls and turnovers against NBA units.

Career record
Pre-NBA: Five college seasons, 122 games. Two buried years at Michigan (1.1 points in 2018-19, 3.1 in 2019-20), then a transfer to Florida where he became a genuine SEC big: 12.4 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.3 blocks on .597 in 2020-21; 16.2 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.2 blocks on .546 in 2021-22; 16.0 points, 7.7 rebounds and 3.0 blocks on .500 in 2022-23. First-team All-SEC in 2023 and second-team in 2021 and 2022. Draft: undrafted (2023).

The 2024-25 total is three separate stints and only one of them is informative. Ten Memphis games at 4.6 minutes are noise; the 11 Toronto games on back-to-back 10-days are the real evidence — 26.2 minutes, 7.2 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 0.7 blocks — followed by five Philadelphia games at 19.6 minutes and 7.4 rebounds. Given roughly 20-26 minutes he rebounded at a starter's rate. That is the entire NBA case.
Durability: Two fractures in three years. A right wrist fracture in March 2024 ended his rookie two-way season, and a thumb fracture on November 29, 2025 cut short his Orlando year at four appearances. Neither is chronic, but both cost him the exact stretches when a call-up role was available. Every other low games-played total is contract churn: Lakers two-way, waived October 2024; Memphis two-way, waived January 2025; Osceola; two Toronto 10-days plus a two-year standard deal in April 2025; then an Orlando Exhibit 10 in August 2025 converted to a two-way on October 17.
Trajectory: A productive G League center — his NBA.com bio credits him with 16.6 points, 10.2 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.32 blocks and 1.10 steals in 29.7 minutes on .575 — who has never been given a stable NBA role and is now 26. The Toronto and Philadelphia samples say the rebounding and interior finishing translate; the problem has always been that he arrives on a two-way behind three standard centers. Orlando's depth chart of Carter, Vucevic and Bitadze, with Isaac and Nelson as emergency options, leaves no healthy-night minutes. He becomes fantasy-relevant only if a Magic center is traded or misses extended time and he gets a real 18-plus-minute call-up, at which point rebounds, field-goal percentage and some blocks are streamable in deep leagues — and even that is now the third time this specific condition has had to line up.

Open questions
- How often will Orlando keep Castleton with the NBA club rather than Osceola?
- Is he the first call-up center ahead of Nelson after Nelson's rehab?
- Can his FT and foul rates hold up against NBA lineups?
- Would any standard-center trade create a sustained role?
