Role and evidence

The Houston Chronicle identified Green as one of Houston's 2026 unrestricted free agents. He is absent from the 2026-27 contract table despite remaining on the public team page.

Green played 30 games in 2025-26, averaging 2.2 points and 0.8 rebounds in 5.8 minutes while shooting .368 from the field and .273 from three (Basketball Reference). Veteran leadership may still earn a roster spot somewhere, but it does not create fantasy production.

Career TO computed from the season table (GP-weighted); StatMuse's career query returned 0.8, inconsistent with its own season rows.

Durability: Remarkably durable around one catastrophic event: an aortic aneurysm found in December 2011 cost him the entire 2011-12 season after open-heart surgery. Otherwise he played 68-82 games in every season from 2007-08 through 2018-19 and won the 2023 title with Denver; the 32- and 30-game totals of 2024-26 reflect a vanishing role, not injury.

Trajectory: Nineteen seasons and 1,247 games trace a full arc: 15-17 PPG forward in Oklahoma City and Boston, decade-long journeyman scorer, then end-of-bench elder in Houston whose 2025-26 (5.8 MPG, 2.2 PTS) was ceremonial. At 40 he competes only for a veteran-leadership roster spot, in Houston or elsewhere. There is no realistic condition under which he becomes fantasy-relevant in 2026-27; he is rosterable in no format.
