Nine-cat: top-20 to top-45 per game; top-55 to top-90 totals. Points: A-, roughly rounds 3-5 under common formulas. Dynasty: 5.5/10; contender asset with a short horizon. Opening-night allocation: 30 minutes.
Role and evidence
Curry produced 26.6 points, 4.4 threes, 4.7 assists, 1.1 steals, .468 FG, and .923 FT in 30.9 minutes, but played only 43 games (ESPN 2025-26 statistics). He remains the only proven high-volume advantage creator on the projected opening-night roster. Podziemski and Green can reduce initiation burden; neither replaces Curry's shot gravity or fantasy scoring.
Patellofemoral pain in Curry's right knee caused a long 2025-26 absence. NBA.com's March 2 update said he remained out after reevaluation (NBA.com); local reporting counted 27 consecutive missed games. The model therefore cuts availability and minutes without assuming an undocumented new diagnosis.
Correction 2026-07-19: median GP raised from 52 to 58. July reporting describes Curry as entering 2026-27 with no limitations, no offseason surgery, and a deliberately lighter summer program to preserve the knee — "The knee is feeling great" — which makes 52 an under-projection: it priced a second multi-week knee interruption into the median for a player who is fully cleared. His last six season totals are 63, 64, 56, 74, 70, 43; 58 keeps the age-38 rest discount below every healthy season in that run while moving the recurrence scenario to the floor branch where it belongs. ClutchPoints, July 2026 · NBC Sports Bay Area
Market evidence is unusually dispersed: a July 18 Dynatyze ranking showed Curry 56th, an early Reddit nine-category board placed him 27th, and a live RTSports ADP sheet showed 23.36. That gap is mostly an availability price, not disagreement about his healthy rates.
Range and category shape
- Ceiling: 62 games at 31 MPG, 27 points, 4.5 threes, and 5.5 assists; top-15 per game and top-30 totals.
- Median: 58 games with scheduled rest and scattered maintenance absences, no repeat multi-week knee interruption; elite threes/FT impact, strong scoring, neutral rebounds, and modest blocks.
- Floor: fewer than 40 games or a minutes cap below 28; Podziemski becomes the primary fantasy beneficiary.
FG% remains positive for a guard but comes on very high attempt volume, while turnovers are the main categorical cost. Butler's eventual return can trim assists without harming Curry's efficiency; losing Green would probably do the opposite.
Career record
Pre-NBA: Davidson, three seasons in the Southern Conference (2006-07 through 2008-09). Freshman: 34 games, 21.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.8 steals, 3.6 threes on .463/.408/.855. Sophomore: 36 games, 25.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 2.0 steals, 4.5 threes on .483/.439/.894. Junior: 34 games, 28.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 2.5 steals, 3.8 threes on .454/.387/.876, leading Division I in scoring. Career line across 174 games: 24.7 points on .470/.417/.875 with 4.0 threes. Honors include SoCon Freshman of the Year, two-time SoCon Player of the Year (2008, 2009), three-time first-team All-SoCon, Midwest Regional Most Outstanding Player in the 2008 tournament run, and consensus first-team All-American as a junior. The junior-year detail that mattered most to scouts was the jump from 2.9 to 5.6 assists when Davidson moved him to point guard — it is the reason he was drafted as a lead guard rather than a specialist. Draft: 2009, first round, 7th overall, Golden State Warriors; no draft-night trade.

Seventeen seasons, all in Golden State — no split rows. Awards: four championships (2015, 2017, 2018, 2022), two MVPs (2015, 2016, the latter unanimous), Finals MVP (2022), twelve All-Star selections (2014-2019, 2021-2026, eleven of them as a voted starter — he was selected in 2026 but sat out with the knee), scoring titles in 2016 and 2021, and the NBA career three-point record.
Fantasy history: Verified season-end 9-category ranks are not retrievable from the sources reachable here, and I am not going to assign numbers from memory. The structural history is unambiguous regardless. From 2012-13 onward he has been a per-game category monster in a very specific shape: he wins threes outright and free-throw percentage outright, wins points, is neutral-to-positive on field-goal percentage depending on the year, contributes nothing in blocks, and loses turnovers. The 2015-16 and 2020-21 seasons are the two peaks — 5.1 and 5.3 threes with 30.1 and 32.0 points — and 2015-16 is probably the single most valuable fantasy season of the modern era, since it paired that scoring with 2.1 steals and .504 shooting. The steals column is where the aging shows: 1.8 to 2.1 through 2016-17, and 0.7 to 1.3 in every season since 2018-19, which quietly removed a category he used to win. Points-league value has consistently run ahead of category value in recent years, because points formats fully reward the scoring and three-point volume while ignoring the missing blocks. The seasons where per-game and total value diverge hardest are 2011-12, 2019-20 and 2025-26, and in each case the per-game line was fine and the roster impact was not.
Durability: 80, 74, 26, 78, 78, 80, 79, 79, 51, 69, 5, 63, 64, 56, 74, 70, 43. Three distinct chapters. The early ankle era nearly ended the career: at least five ankle sprains and two surgeries around the 26-game 2011-12 season, including a January 4, 2012 sprain and an April 2012 operation to clear scar tissue and loose bodies. That resolved and he ran off five straight seasons of 78-80 games. The middle-career absences were discrete traumatic events rather than chronic ones — a sprained left MCL plus ankle problems cost him 31 games in 2017-18, and a broken left hand (second metacarpal, with nerve damage requiring surgery) in October 2019 cost roughly four months and limited him to 5 games in 2019-20. From 2020-21 he settled into a 56-74 band, which is load management as much as injury. The 2025-26 absence is the one that matters now: he last played January 30 against Detroit, was diagnosed with patellofemoral pain syndrome and bone bruising in the right knee, missed 27 consecutive games, and returned April 5 against Houston with five games left, scoring 29 in 26 minutes. MRIs showed no structural damage and he said publicly that nothing was structurally wrong. Golden State went 9-18 during that stretch and 13-25 without him overall.
Trajectory: The most important thing the table says about 2026-27 is that the rates did not decline in 2025-26 — the availability did. His per-36 scoring was 31.0, higher than 2023-24 (29.1) and 2024-25 (27.4), and his field-goal percentage rose from .448 to .468 while free-throw percentage stayed at .923 and threes held at 4.4. That is not an aging profile; a 37-year-old scoring more efficiently on a per-minute basis than at 35 is genuinely unusual, and it means the knee absence should be priced as an availability event rather than as evidence of decline. What has actually eroded is everything adjacent to the shooting: rebounds fell to a career-low 3.6, assists to a career-low 4.7, and steals have been stuck near 1.1 for years. Those are the categories to write off, not the scoring. The aging-curve read is that he is past the point where a full 70-game season should be the base case — he has cleared 70 games twice in six years — and the patellofemoral diagnosis is the kind of load-sensitive knee problem that recurs under a heavy schedule even without structural damage, which is a different and more persistent risk than the 2019 hand fracture was. For 2026-27, the sensible model is elite per-game production in the 26-point, 4.4-three range for as long as he plays, with the number of games and any formal minutes policy carrying essentially all of the variance in his season-long value.
