Status and evidence

Curry's one-year Warriors deal expired. On July 16 he said he was “absolutely open” to returning, but no agreement existed (NBC Bay Area). In ten 2025-26 games he averaged 7.1 points and 1.2 threes in 13.3 minutes, shooting .490 FG, .480 from three, and .917 FT (ESPN).

The extreme percentages came in tiny volume and are regressed. If re-signed, Seth competes with Cryer and Richard for bench shooting; he does not project as the backup lead guard ahead of Podziemski or Melton.

Career record

Pre-NBA: Four college seasons. As a Liberty freshman in 2008-09 he averaged 20.2 points and led all NCAA Division I freshmen in scoring. He transferred to Duke, sat out 2009-10 under transfer rules, and played three seasons there: 37 games with 19 starts in 2010-11 (9.0 points, 1.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.4 steals), a larger role in 2011-12, and a senior year in 2012-13 in which he started all 35 games, led Duke at 17.5 points per game on .465 from the field and .430 from three, made All-ACC First Team and reached the Elite Eight. Draft: undrafted (2013). He spent 2013 to 2015 between NBA fringes and the D-League — Santa Cruz, Erie, and short looks with Memphis, Cleveland and Phoenix — before Sacramento gave him his first real rotation minutes in 2015-16.

Split seasons combine to 64 games at 15.0 points in 2021-22 and 44 games at 5.1 points in 2023-24. Career three-point percentage is .433 across 560 games, which is the number that has kept him employed.

Durability: The missing 2017-18 row is the largest item: a stress reaction in his left tibia diagnosed in preseason became season-ending surgery in February 2018, costing him all 82 games at age 27, immediately after his best season. Beyond that he has been available more often than not — 70, 74, 64, 68 games in his healthiest years — with the low totals since 2023 reflecting rotation status rather than injury. The 10-game 2025-26 Warriors season was a late-signed, situational role.

Trajectory: Thirteen seasons of the same skill: an elite, high-volume shooter with no defense, no rebounding and almost no steals or blocks, whose fantasy value has always been percentages and threes rather than counting stats. His peak was 2020-22 in Philadelphia, when 15 points on .485/.422/.877 in 34 minutes made him genuinely rosterable; everything since has been shrinking minutes at preserved efficiency. Entering his age-36 season he is an unrestricted free agent with no deal, and the 10-game Golden State sample — .490/.480/.917 — is far too small to treat as evidence of anything. He has no 2026-27 fantasy value until he signs; if he re-signs with Golden State he is behind Podziemski and Melton for guard minutes and competing with Cryer and Richard for bench shooting, which means he becomes streamable only in the narrow case of a multi-week injury to a Warriors guard opening 18-plus minutes.
