Status and role
Toohey appeared on Golden State's official 2026 Las Vegas Summer League roster. His ESPN profile records the prior Warriors affiliation, but the club had waived him during 2025-26 and no new standard, two-way, or Exhibit 10 contract was located by July 18.
His size, connective passing, and team familiarity make him more credible than a random workout name. That still does not place him ahead of Lendeborg, Santos, Richard, Jones, or Leons. The conditional line describes sparse NBA appearances only if he earns a deal.
Range
- Ceiling: earns a two-way slot and becomes a 12-15-minute connector during wing injuries.
- Median: Summer League only, zero Warriors regular-season games.
- Floor: no camp invitation after Las Vegas.
Career record
Pre-NBA: Two seasons with the Sydney Kings of Australia's NBL, joining via the Next Stars program in June 2023 after NBL1 semi-pro ball. As a 19-year-old in 2023-24 he played 29 games at 21.5 minutes for 8.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 0.8 assists on .443/.254/.685. In 2024-25 he played 30 games at 22.9 minutes for 10.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.8 blocks on .452/.302/.729, winning the NBL Next Generation Award. The NBL is the strongest league in the southern hemisphere and a routine NBA feeder. Draft: 2025, second round, 52nd overall, Phoenix Suns; rights traded to Golden State on July 6, 2025.
Toohey has never appeared in an NBA regular-season game. He signed a Warriors two-way on September 29, 2025, played two G League games for Santa Cruz, then suffered a season-ending knee injury requiring surgery and was waived on December 8, 2025. His most recent full professional season is the 2024-25 Sydney line above.
Durability: One serious event, and it cost him his rookie year — a knee injury in November 2025 that required surgery and ended the season after two G League appearances. Durable through both NBL seasons (29 and 30 games).
Trajectory: A connective 6-8 forward whose NBL production improved across the board in year two, but whose three-point shooting (.254 then .302) is the reason he went 52nd and the reason he is now unsigned. The knee cost him the entire developmental year that a second-round two-way exists to provide. Las Vegas in July 2026 is effectively a tryout: he needs an Exhibit 10 or two-way offer just to be in a camp, and he would then have to pass Lendeborg, Santos, Richard, Jones and Leons to see NBA minutes. Nothing about him is fantasy-relevant in 2026-27 unless he signs and a wing injury cluster empties the depth chart ahead of him.

Open questions
- Does Summer League performance produce an Exhibit 10 or two-way offer?
- Has his three-point shot advanced enough for an NBA off-ball role?
