Ron Holland II

Ron Holland II is a better dynasty bet than 2026-27 redraft target: defensive-event upside and transition scoring are real, but the crowded wing rotation and shaky shooting cap immediate minutes.

Team: Detroit Pistons · Age: 21 · Position: SF/PF · As of: 2026-07-18

Nine-cat: deep-league stocks streamer. Points: C-. Dynasty: 7.5/10; age and two-way ceiling justify patience.

Role and evidence

Holland averaged 8.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.2 steals in 19.9 minutes across 78 games, shooting .432 from the field and .805 from the line (Basketball-Reference). That is a meaningful NBA defensive baseline for a player who turned 21 in July.

John Collins takes the starting power-forward role, while Thompson, Robinson, Joe, and Huerter crowd the wing. Holland's best path is becoming the first energetic reserve at both forward spots. He can gain minutes even without a jumper if his transition pressure and switching defense produce winning bench lineups; he needs improved half-court decision-making to close.

Durability: 81 then 78 games — an iron-man profile in the NBA. The only serious injury on record is the 2024 thumb-tendon surgery that cut the Ignite season to 15 games; it has not recurred.

Trajectory: Two seasons in, the record is exactly the Ignite scouting report at NBA scale: steal generation that doubled to 1.2 per game in year two, growing rebounding, and a three-point shot stuck in the mid-.20s (.238, then .253). For 2026-27 he competes to be Detroit's first reserve at both forward spots against a veteran-loaded wing group. He becomes fantasy-relevant if he reaches roughly 24-25 minutes — his per-minute steals already clear the streamer bar, so minutes, not skill growth, is the near-term gate; a usable jumper is what would push him from streamer to hold.
