Team: Denver Nuggets · Position: PG · Age during season: 30
Reported baseline
Jones played for three teams in 2025-26. He signed a one-year deal with Orlando in July 2025 and made 48 appearances there (3.0 points, 1.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists), was traded to Charlotte on February 4, 2026 with two second-rounders for cash and flipped to Dallas the next day in a three-team deal involving Washington, played 8 games for the Mavericks (3.9 / 1.1 / 3.8), was waived on February 28, and signed with Denver on March 5. His Denver sample was only 11 games at 2.2 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists. The combined three-team line is 3.0 points, 1.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.6 threes in 14.6 minutes over 67 games on 34.9% from the field and 77.8% at the line.1 Denver re-signed him to a one-year deal in July.2 The NBA's offseason roundup credited him with a league-leading 6.36 assist-to-turnover ratio, the clearest evidence for his real-life value even when fantasy volume is thin.3
ESPN's dynamic preseason snapshot placed Jones 128th in its standard ordering but 303rd in roto, a warning that points-league scoring can overvalue stable minutes and passing relative to nine-category scarcity.4

Correction 2026-07-18: minutes cut from 18 to 17 and counting stats rescaled (rates held constant), because the team desk's primary minute model now assumes Peyton Watson is retained, which pulls a small share of the second unit's ball-handling minutes back toward the wings. Hoops Rumors reported July 17 that Denver values Watson "significantly" and believes it is positioned well to keep him. The prior 18-minute line survives as the Watson-departs contingency. https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2026/07/nuggets-rumors-watson-joerger-roddy-diallo.html
9-cat per-game band: 210-plus. Points: deep-league reserve or Murray-injury handcuff. Dynasty: low-upside veteran whose value is almost entirely role contingent.
Fantasy profile
- Helps: assists without turnovers, modest steals, and neutral low-volume FT impact.
- Hurts: points, rebounds, blocks and percentage leverage; poor 2025-26 shooting should rebound, but even a rebound does not create volume.
- Floor: 13-15 MPG, approximately his prior role, with no standard-league relevance.
- Ceiling: 24-plus MPG after a Murray absence or second-unit expansion; then 5-6 assists with excellent turnover control becomes streamable.
Role and confidence
Jones is behind a 35-MPG lead guard and can share the floor with Murray only in selective small lineups. His one-year contract and Denver's lack of another signed point guard create a stable roster floor, not a large minute floor. The "only signed reserve organizer" framing should not be read as a settled role: his Denver sample was 11 late-season games producing 2.2 points and 1.2 assists, which is a roster fact rather than evidence of an established rotation share. Roster confidence high, minutes medium, rate medium, availability medium-high.

2025-26 combined: 67 GP, 14.6 MPG, 3.0 PTS, 1.1 REB, 2.4 AST, .349 FG%, .778 FT%. Team-split FT% omitted — tiny FTA samples (ESPN shows 100/50/0 percent on a handful of attempts).
Durability: 749 games in eleven seasons with no major injury history — an 82-game season (2017-18), 80 in 2022-23, 81 in 2024-25. Sub-70 seasons trace mostly to rotation decisions and minor knocks, and the 2025-26 total (67) includes a week unsigned between the Dallas waiver (February 28) and the Denver signing (March 5).
Trajectory: The record shows a decade-long arc from third guard to legitimate starter — peaking at 12.0 points and 7.3 assists in Washington in 2023-24 — followed by a steep 2025-26 collapse to fringe-rotation minutes across three teams, though the elite assist-to-turnover control (league-best 6.36 in 2025-26) never left. In 2026-27 he holds the backup point guard job behind Jamal Murray as Denver's only signed reserve organizer. He becomes fantasy-relevant only if Murray misses extended time: his 2023-24 Washington season proves that with starter minutes he returns top-100 value on assists, percentages, and near-zero turnovers.
