Team: Denver Nuggets · Position: SG/SF · Age during season: 25
Reported baseline
Braun played 44 games and averaged 12.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.0 three, 0.7 steals and 0.3 blocks on 51.9% FG and 78.2% FT.1 The Nuggets had already extended him, but his injury-filled season and large salary made him a possible trade/cost lever in July reporting.2 3

Correction 2026-07-18: minutes cut from 32 to 30 and counting stats rescaled (rates held constant), because the team desk's primary minute model now assumes Peyton Watson is retained. Hoops Rumors reported July 17 that Denver values Watson "significantly" and believes it is positioned well to keep him, with the interested teams all over the cap, so retention is the modal outcome rather than a branch. The prior 32-minute line survives as the Watson-departs contingency. https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2026/07/nuggets-rumors-watson-joerger-roddy-diallo.html
9-cat per-game band: 160-205. Points: ESPN-style top-80 candidate because minutes and counting stats are rewarded. Dynasty: stable rotation asset, not a high-upside fantasy prospect.
Fantasy profile
- Helps: FG%, low turnovers and balanced low-level counting production.
- Limits: no elite category, low threes for a wing and modest stocks.
- Floor: outside top 210 in nine-category if Watson returns and shooting remains near 30% from three.
- Ceiling: top 110 with 15 points, 1.2 steals and shooting rebound.
Role and uncertainty
The five-year extension protects organizational investment, not fantasy usage. Roster confidence medium-high, minutes high if retained, rate medium, availability medium. ESPN's 65/189 standard-roto split should be treated as a format warning rather than “consensus rank.”4

Fantasy history: 2022-23 and 2023-24 were outside standard-league relevance at 15.5 and 20.2 minutes. 2024-25 is the one strong season: contemporaneous coverage placed him around top-60 in nine-category leagues, driven by .580 FG% on real volume plus 1.1 steals and only 1.0 turnover. A precise 2025-26 season-end nine-category rank is not verifiable, and at 44 games he would fail most full-season rater minimums; the per-game shape clearly regressed because the three-point percentage fell from .397 to .301 and steals fell from 1.1 to 0.7. The points-league shape is consistently better than the category shape — the ESPN 65-versus-189 split cited above is the standing example — because points formats reward his minutes and clean turnover rate while ignoring that he has no elite category.
Durability: 2022-23: 76 GP. 2023-24: 82 GP. 2024-25: 79 GP. 2025-26: 44 GP. The first three seasons are as clean an availability record as exists. The 2025-26 gap is one injury, not a pattern: a severe ankle sprain suffered in early November 2025 against the Clippers cost him roughly 38 games, and he returned February 3, 2026, then played through the rest of the schedule without further absence.
Trajectory: The 2024-25 leap was a role change, not a skill change — Denver moved him from 4 starts to 77 and his minutes jumped 13.7 per game, and the counting stats followed almost mechanically. What made that season genuinely good rather than merely bigger was efficiency: .580 from the field and .397 from three at high volume, both career outliers against a Kansas baseline where he never shot better than .495. The 2025-26 line is the honest correction and it is worse than the raw drop suggests, because per-36 scoring fell from 16.4 to 13.6 while rebounds and assists per-36 held flat — the decline is entirely shooting, and .301 from three is as far below his true talent as .397 was above it. At 25 he is at the flat top of the aging curve with no development runway left to assume, so the reasonable 2026-27 forecast is a healthy 75-plus-game season at 30-plus minutes with three-point shooting reverting toward his .365 career mark, which produces useful real-life value and mid-to-late-round category value rather than a repeat of the 2024-25 spike.

Open questions
- Was the 30.1% three-point season injury-driven or a new shooting baseline?
- Does Watson retention or a salary trade change Braun's minutes/usage?
- Can steals rise enough to make the real defensive role visible in nine-category value?
