Marshall played 74 games and averaged 15.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.1 steals on 51.0% shooting in 2025-26. His 29.1% from three made that efficiency heavily dependent on interior scoring.
Fantasy translation
- Nine-category: deep-league glue and a useful streamer when Dallas is short on creators. One steal and positive FG% help; low threes/blocks cap standard-league value.
- Points: more attractive than in categories because efficient counting volume and assists are not penalized by scarce-category shape.
- Dynasty: age-28 hold for contenders, with limited appreciation upside.
Role, floor, ceiling, uncertainty
- Median role: 27-minute wing/secondary initiator, often defending the best large perimeter scorer.
- Floor: 22 MPG if Christie, Biberović, and Aldama squeeze the wing rotation; 10–11 points.
- Ceiling: another 30-MPG season if Irving misses time, preserving roughly 15/5/4.
- Main swing: creation need. Marshall is more valuable when Dallas lacks a true guard than when Irving and Flagg share every possession.

Career record
Pre-NBA: Xavier, three seasons (2017-18 through 2019-20), Big East. Freshman year 7.7 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists on 53.0/34.9/75.3 and Big East All-Freshman; sophomore year 14.7 points, 7.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists on 39.4/27.7/72.2 and second-team All-Big East, after which he declared for the 2019 draft and withdrew; junior year 16.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists on 44.5/28.6/71.0 and first-team All-Big East, finishing with 1,277 career points. The shooting profile that has followed him to the NBA was already visible — he never cleared 35% from three after his freshman season. Draft: undrafted in 2020; signed a two-way deal with New Orleans on December 8, 2020, converted to a multi-year contract on May 7, 2021.

Three-point rate by season: .349 on 2.6 attempts (2020-21), .200 on 1.9 (2021-22), .303 on 2.8 (2022-23), .387 on 2.3 (2023-24), .275 on 3.2 (2024-25), .291 on 2.9 (2025-26). The 2023-24 spike came on the lowest volume of his Dallas-era attempts and has not repeated.
Fantasy history: season-end 9-category ranks are not verifiable from public sources for any year of his career, and are not estimated here. What is verifiable is the shape: he cleared standard-league rosterability only in the two Dallas seasons, and ESPN's in-season 2025-26 points-league list had him around 103rd overall, meaningfully better than his category standing. That gap is structural rather than seasonal — 0.8 threes and 0.1 blocks are dead weight in 9-cat, while points leagues pay full freight for 15 points, 4.7 boards and 3.3 assists at 51% from the field.
Durability: 32 GP (2020-21, limited by a December two-way signing rather than health), 55, 77, 66, 69, 74. The 2025-26 absences were a left hip contusion, a two-game illness, a left foot strain suffered against the Lakers in February 2026, and a hip problem that closed out his last three games of the regular season. Dallas also held him out of at least one game for load management. None of it is structural, and the trend line runs the right way: his two highest-availability seasons are the two most recent.
Trajectory: The leap is real and it is late. From 2023-24 to 2024-25 his scoring went from 7.1 to 13.2 while minutes went 19.0 to 27.8 — but per-36 that is 13.5 to 17.1, so roughly half the gain came from role and half from genuine improvement, almost all of it inside the arc where his field-goal percentage jumped from .463 to .508. The 2025-26 season added another 1.7 minutes and 2.0 points with efficiency flat, which reads as pure opportunity rather than another step forward, and it arrived alongside Dallas's guard shortage. He turns 29 in January 2027, past the point where interior finishers usually add anything, and the one skill that would raise his ceiling — a three he can be left open on — has now failed to develop across six seasons and three distinct shot diets. The honest read for 2026-27 is that 2025-26 was the peak of the volume, not the peak of the player, and a healthy Irving plus Flagg's usage take the ball out of his hands.
