2026-27 status
Powell's three-year, $12M deal expired and he entered 2026 free agency as an unrestricted free agent. He is absent from ESPN's current Dallas roster and from HoopsHype's 2026-27 Dallas salary table, and Dallas's transaction log shows no re-signing. He turns 35 during the season, and Dallas's frontcourt β Gafford, Lively, Aldama, Washington, Morez Johnson Jr., with Flagg able to slide up β leaves no obvious slot.
Correction 2026-07-18: this file previously carried a 20 GP Γ 6 MPG Dallas projection and a depth-chart slot, sourced to the nba.com roster display. That listing could not be reproduced on any current source. The projection and the depth-chart slot were removed; his 1.46 weighted minutes went back into the 240-minute pool.
Baseline, for whoever signs him
Powell averaged 3.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 14.3 minutes across 63 games in 2025-26 β a screening, rolling, low-usage veteran center whose value was never fantasy-relevant even at those minutes.
Fantasy translation
- Nine-category: none. Even a signing elsewhere leaves him a deep-league FG%/rebound emergency streamer at best.
- Points: none without an 18-minute path that no contender is likely to offer.
- Dynasty: none.

Career record
Pre-NBA: Four years at Stanford (2010-11 through 2013-14), 136 games at 10.8 points and 6.3 rebounds on 46.4% shooting; as a senior he averaged 14.0 points and 6.9 rebounds and made All-Pac-12 first team. Canadian, from Toronto. Draft: 2014, round 2, pick 45, Charlotte Hornets β his rights were traded to Cleveland that July, to Boston in September, and to Dallas that December in the Rajon Rondo deal.

Durability: The defining absence is the right Achilles tear in January 2020, which ended his 2019-20 season at 40 games and cost him the Orlando restart. He returned for 58 games in 2020-21 and then played 82 in 2021-22, but never got the 26.5 minutes back. Otherwise a reliable 55-to-82-game presence for a decade, with the shrinking totals since 2022-23 driven by role rather than health.
Trajectory: A screen-and-roll, rim-finishing backup center whose entire offensive profile is catching lobs and dunking β hence a .606 career field-goal mark that peaked at .732 in 2022-23 and essentially zero three-point volume. His peak fantasy season was 2018-19 at 10.6 points and 5.3 rebounds, and even that was a low-usage line without a category he wins. He is 34, unsigned, and his three-year, $12M deal expired; Dallas has no slot for him. He has no fantasy relevance in 2026-27 in any scenario short of signing somewhere thin at center and being handed 18-plus minutes by injury, which would still only produce a FG%-and-rebounds streamer.
