Fantasy translation
- Nine-category: waiver-only, even in most deep leagues.
- Points: short-term streamer only if multiple wings are absent.
- Dynasty: no meaningful value outside very deep salary formats.
Role, floor, ceiling, uncertainty
- Median role: matchup wing and injury replacement.
- Floor: waived/traded or largely outside the rotation.
- Ceiling: 18–20 MPG and one steal if Dallas consolidates wings.
- Competition: Flagg, Christie, Marshall, Biberović, Thompson, Washington, and Aldama all have stronger claims to overlapping minutes.

Career record
Pre-NBA: Two seasons at NC State (ACC), averaging 11.5 points and 4.7 rebounds as a sophomore, then transferred with twin brother Cody to Nevada (Mountain West). He averaged 18.9 points in his first eligible Nevada season and was Mountain West Player of the Year, then 19.2 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists as a senior. Draft: undrafted (2019); signed with Charlotte and was converted from an Exhibit 10 to a two-way and then a standard contract inside his rookie season.

Postseason note: the peak of the career was the 2023 Eastern Conference Finals, where he averaged 19.3 points and 6.4 rebounds across seven games as Miami eliminated Boston from the eighth seed.
Durability: 18 games as a rookie (contract status, not injury), then 53, 60, 71 and 64. The break point is a hip injury suffered on January 10, 2025 in Philadelphia; it was severe enough that Dallas amended the trade that sent Quentin Grimes to the 76ers, and it cost him a month before his Mavericks debut. He played 58 games in 2025-26 but the hip was still a factor early in that season.
Trajectory: Three good Miami seasons in the middle of the career — roughly 10 points and four rebounds on 27-29 minutes, with real defensive versatility — bracketed by fringe years on either side. The 2025-26 collapse is the concerning part: 3.3 field goal attempts per game, one three-point attempt, and a 60.7% free throw mark at age 30, all of which read as a player whose hip has taken the burst out of his game rather than one who simply lost minutes. He is Dallas's seventh or eighth wing in 2026-27 behind Flagg, Christie, Marshall and Washington; he needs two of those four to miss extended time before he sees 18 minutes, and even then the 2025-26 shooting line means the fantasy return would be thin.
