Brandon Williams

Status: departed — unsigned unrestricted free agent. Brandon Williams is not on the 2026-27 Dallas roster and carries no Dallas projection in this encyclopedia. He is retained here as a departure record and as the origin of the bench-guard minutes the Dallas desk now assigns elsewhere.

2026-27 status

Williams's two-year deal expired and he entered 2026 free agency as an unrestricted free agent. He is absent from ESPN's current Dallas roster and from HoopsHype's 2026-27 Dallas cap sheet, and Dallas's transaction log records no re-signing. Dallas holds Early Bird rights only. Reporting has him drawing interest from Phoenix, Golden State, and Boston.

Correction 2026-07-18: this file previously carried a 12 GP × 5 MPG Dallas projection and a depth-chart slot, sourced to the nba.com roster display. That listing could not be reproduced on any current source, and every independent roster and cap source shows him unsigned. The projection and the depth-chart slot were removed; his 0.73 weighted minutes went back into the 240-minute pool.

Baseline, for whoever signs him

Williams averaged 13.0 points, 2.9 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 0.9 steals in 22.2 minutes across 66 games in 2025-26, with 15 starts — a career year. That is the largest single block of bench-guard production Dallas has vacated this offseason, and the Dallas desk routes it to Ryan Nembhard and Marcus Sasser.

Career record

Pre-NBA: One playing season at Arizona (Pac-12), 2018-19: 11.4 points, 3.4 assists and 2.8 rebounds in 26 games (21 starts) on 37.7% FG, 31.6% 3PT, 81.9% FT. He redshirted 2019-20 with knee trouble and did not play again in college. Draft: undrafted (2021). He then spent four years cycling through the G League — Westchester in 2021-22, College Park in 2022-23, Osceola in 2023, and the Texas Legends from 2023 to 2025, where he won the G League scoring title in 2025.

No 2022-23 row: he spent that season entirely in the G League with College Park.

Durability: 24, 0, 17, 33, 66 games. The gaps are contract status, not health — two-way and G League assignments through 2024, then a two-year standard deal signed in April 2025 that produced his first full NBA season. The redshirt year at Arizona is the only significant medical event on record.

Trajectory: A late-blooming combo guard whose fourth NBA season was his first real one: 66 games, 22 minutes, 13.0 points and 3.9 assists with 15 starts. The efficiency profile is the catch — .472 from the field is healthy for a guard, but 0.5 threes on 23.2% shooting means he creates no spacing, and the 1.9 turnovers against 3.9 assists is ordinary. That combination is why a career year did not produce a guaranteed contract. He is unsigned as of July 18, 2026, so he has no 2026-27 projection here; he becomes fantasy-relevant only if he lands somewhere with a thin guard room and inherits 20-plus minutes, and even then he is a points-league streamer rather than a category asset.
