Michael Ajayi

Michael Ajayi is a two-way rebounding wing whose college production is intriguing but whose 2026-27 NBA projection is limited to spot call-ups.

Nine-category and points: outside the top 250. Dynasty: outside the top 220, but rebounding gives him a clearer specialist route than many undrafted wings.

Career record

Pre-NBA: A four-stop college career. Two seasons at Pierce College (JUCO), where he averaged 22.7 points in 34.2 minutes, then Pepperdine in 2023-24, where he averaged 17.2 points and 9.9 rebounds and made first-team All-WCC. He transferred to Gonzaga for 2024-25 and the role collapsed — 6.5 points and 5.4 rebounds off the bench, second on the team in rebounding but never a scoring option. He entered the portal again and landed at Butler for 2025-26, where he started all 32 games and averaged 16.4 points, 11.1 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 33.6 minutes on 45.5/26.1/65.3 splits, with 35 steals and 29 blocks. His 356 total rebounds set a Butler single-season record; he had 19 double-doubles, including a 19-point, 20-rebound game against Northwestern, and made first-team All-Big East. Draft: undrafted (2026); signed a two-way contract with Charlotte in July 2026.

No NBA record yet. Ajayi has not appeared in an NBA regular-season game. His most recent competitive season is the Butler line above.

Durability: No NBA history to assess. He started all 32 games at Butler in 2025-26 and played 33.6 minutes a night, the heaviest workload of his college career, without a reported absence.

Trajectory: The profile is a 6-7 forward who rebounds far above position and creates a little off the bounce, attached to a jumper that has not arrived — 26.1% from three at Butler and 65.3% at the line are both disqualifying for an NBA wing until they move. The Gonzaga year is the warning: against high-major athletes without the ball in his hands, the production vanished. He is a Greensboro player who will be capped at 50 NBA service days. He matters in fantasy only in the narrow case where Charlotte's wing depth is gutted by injury or a deadline sale and he has already forced the issue with G League rebounding numbers; even then the shooting keeps the minutes short.
