Liam McNeeley

Liam McNeeley is a young shooting wing with contingent opportunity, but veteran additions and Charlotte's three established scorers keep his redraft path narrow.

Nine-category and points: outside the top 230. Dynasty: top 170-230 in deep formats; shooting and age preserve upside, but he needs a real secondary statistic.

Career record

Pre-NBA: One season at UConn (2024-25): 27 GP, 32.1 MPG, 14.5 PTS, 6.0 REB, 2.3 AST on .381 FG, .317 3P, .866 FT. Big East Freshman of the Year and third-team All-Big East. A consensus five-star out of Montverde Academy and a 2024 McDonald's All-American, he arrived with a shooter's reputation that his college percentages did not support — the .317 from three is the number that pushed him to the end of the first round. Draft: 2025, first round, 29th overall by Phoenix; rights traded to Charlotte on June 30, 2025 with Vasilije Micić and a 2029 first-rounder for Mark Williams.

Season Age Team GP MPG PTS REB AST STL BLK 3PM FG% FT% TO
2025-26 20 CHA 31 11.9 4.3 2.4 0.8 0.2 0.1 0.8 .400 .821 0.4

He shot .400 from three as a rookie, matching his overall field-goal percentage — the volume was low but the stroke translated better in the NBA than it had at UConn. He also logged 20 games for Greensboro at 19.6 PTS, 5.1 REB, 3.2 AST, which is the more useful read on his offensive ceiling than 12 NBA minutes a night.

Durability: 31 of 82 games. A left ankle sprain ended his NBA season in late January; he made no NBA or G League appearance after February 6, 2026. The rest of the missed time was rotation crowding rather than health.

Trajectory: A first-round shooting wing who did the one thing asked of him at a competent rate and then lost the year to an ankle. The rebounding rate is real for his position, but there is no secondary category — 0.2 steals and 0.1 blocks give him nothing to stand on in nine-cat. He is fourth or fifth in line at forward behind Miller, Knueppel, Allen and O'Neale. He becomes startable if Charlotte moves a veteran wing at the deadline or Miller misses time again; short of that, expect another season of spot minutes and G League volume.
