Career record
Pre-NBA: Four college seasons — two at Arizona (2022-23, 2023-24) and two at Illinois after transferring in 2024. Reclassified into college a year early, so he arrived at Arizona at 17 and was a rotation guard immediately: 4.6 points in 15.2 minutes as a freshman, then 9.6 points and 3.6 assists in 27.0 minutes as a starting sophomore on .396/.379. The move to Illinois raised his usage and rebounding but broke the jumper — 12.3 points and 4.8 rebounds on .427 from the floor and .245 from three in 2024-25, then 12.3 points and 4.0 rebounds on .444/.307 as a senior on Illinois' Final Four team, with Big Ten All-Defensive Team honors. The two-year Arizona three-point rate (.379-.390) and the two-year Illinois rate (.245-.307) are the central unresolved question about him. Draft: undrafted (2026); signed a two-way contract with Charlotte in July 2026.

No NBA regular-season appearances. The Charlotte two-way is his first professional contract.
Durability: Played 35, 36 and 35 games in his first three seasons. The senior year is the exception: he fractured his right hand in practice on January 19, 2026, missed seven games, and returned against Indiana on February 15. Through the 18 games before the break he was at 14.3 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists — the full-season averages understate where he was.
Trajectory: A four-year, 136-game college guard whose NBA case is entirely defensive: strong-framed, low-mistake, a real point-of-attack option, with an assist rate that holds up and a jumper that has not shot better than 31% from three in two seasons against high-major defenses. He projects as the Greensboro lead guard with occasional NBA call-ups inside the 50-game two-way limit. Fantasy relevance would require injuries to both Charlotte's starting and backup guards at once and a visible correction in the three-point rate during G League play; without the shot, extra minutes would go to a scorer instead.

Open questions
- Can Boswell recover the shooting confidence he showed earlier in college?
- Does Charlotte ever use his defense beside White or Knueppel, or is he strictly a G League guard this year?
